Re: New Song Up
Dizzizz wrote:Hey, guys. Long time, no see. Just put up a new song, a Johnny Cash cover with my buddy Jason on vocals. Quality's pretty low, but it turned out all right, all things considered.
And by "all things", I mean this was at an impromptu talent show around a campfire, we hadn't played the song in a year, and were reading the chords and lyrics off the same computer I was recording on.
A larger group of us also did House of the Rising Sun, I'll post that tomorrow if I can get it eq'd into something listenable.
1) "I Won't Back Down" is a Tom Petty / Jeff Lynne song (That Johnny Cash did as a tribute)
2) Now that Jason knows this, maybe he'll change the vocal pitch in his lyric
3) Guitar should have a choppy, straight rhythm (4 Eighth notes/per 1 measures), with a muted bass line (in the rhythm)
4) If you record a camp-Fire talent show, it probably wouldn't hurt to capture the audiences responses..makes it sound more fun.
