Hey guys.....

I finished up some home recordings and posted them here. Please click on my pic and check them out. I played pretty much everything as well as programming and things. I would really appreciate any feedback and also some advice on a good place to go... or a good place to send my music to for it to be heard in addition to the regular local gigs.

If you decide to stop my add..... dont be shy about feedback... I really wiegh out what people have to say... I've found that most musicians I run into are usually quite a bit better than I am... so I take all the info/advice/feedback I can. I have a couple of different styles of music posted... I'm not if its good or bad.... Diversity is good... but then again.. unless one listening is a musician...the general public who buys most oif the music, seems to stick to certain types that they are partial too... AM I wrong about this...any ideas? Yeah...Neah?

Thanks for your time. Peace.

Also.. if you care to check it out.... I have a page here as well....click the link... www.myspace.com/2Bitter2BSweet

Without Lyrics it's not a song. Get out of the habit of circling riffs for too long.. make the circles the backround and center stage the coloring.

i think generally, people buy a CD because they like that particular music or want to hear a particular type of music, so i would think an album should have either one genre of music, or at least stick fairly close to a general genre. diversity is always good, but personally i wouldnt be too happy if i bought a punk album that had hip hop songs on it

Hey! You sound pretty good!!
It kind of reminds me of my brother..... He does stuff on his own, and a little here and there with others....
But mostly on his own.... But the two of you have similar styles! If you ever want to check out any of his stuff.... he has a profile on MySpace... He calls himself Twilight Blue..... but I think the t is cut off on his user name...so it'd be Twiligh Blue! There's a tune on there called Screamin' Eagle.... I think he has a poll or something going to see who likes which one better.... My brother Ted sings one version of it, and I sing the other!! Any way!! Your tunes sound pretty good... and I really like diversified music..... :D

Making a good CD walks a fine line. You want it to be diverse enough within it's own language to be interesting, but together enough in that language while not containing pieces that are all "same-y". The best examples I've seen are bands or artists who have spent enough time developing their own style or knowing their own "voice" (be it vocal or instrumental) to confidently explore their new material with an interesting outcome. If I have to drop names, I'll say Tori Amos, Lisa Gerrard (formerly of Dead Can Dance), Trent Reznor and David Gilmore of Pink Floyd all fit that criteria. There are many many others.

Probably one of the worst mistakes an artist can make is to rush a CD into production merely because they want to do a CD. Having something musically to say is the imperative, followed by the polish of your own work and the drive of your own style. If you have all that then CDs will come anyway.

MrMike I'd be happy to - I've got a few things to do today so I can get to it this evening I hope.

Oh, and I have joined up on the collaboration site.....I just haven't "connected" with anything yet. But I'm hopeful.
