It IS a serious problem. People have suffered serious injuries from the jumping fish. They have completely taken over some river ecosystems. If they can figure out a way to send some sort of trawler and net nearly every foreign fish and throw back the native fish AND use the foreign fish for fertilizer. Those rivers flow right through farmland. They could build fish fertilizer processing plants probably every ten miles and have an endless source of fertilizer. Just a thought...

All you need is two people, one with a bat and one with a net. There you go, dinner and a show.

I'm not sure how edible they are. I'm sure the Chinese know how to prepare them since they are primarily from China. Since they are thriving in our waters without predators they have to be a very rich and abundant source of fertilizer. Many years ago the Great lakes became seriously full of lampreys which are like giant leeches that attach to bigger fish (salmon) and suck their blood. So the biologists introduced smelt which eat lamprey eggs. Then the smelt became so overpopulated they were washing up on Great Lakes beaches, ruining them. The Chinook Salmon were introduced and they started eating the smelt. A balanced fishery was achieved. I'm not sure if plans are underway to do something similar with the exploding Asian Carp populations. Therefore my fertilizer idea...
