I freakin hope not.
Have another wireless system in route for my axe.
I hope it works better than the last two.

My first one was a SAMSON ... works good but it colors the sound quite a bit.
And the range is ... well ... useless for my intent and purpose.

The second was a low end Carvin unit. You guys know how much I like Carvin gear ... well ... this thing is crap IMO. :(

So I went out on the old limb with a saw in my hand again.
Maybe ?
Just maybe ?

In general, I only like the digital units. Better frequency response, decent headroom and range is more predictable, IME.

Even then, spend the money for high end equipment. Some of the less expensive stuff is surprisingly bad. Really.

Why don't you use Brace? It's cheap, it's good and it doesn't change your sound. Cisco's endorsed with them and he's been using it for about 1.5 years now. He jumps out in the audience with it and he can go pretty far away from the stage. Most wireless systems are about $400, but this one is under $200, and it works great.

Now she tells me ... :(

I should receive my new unit this evening or tomorrow.
I'm withholding information ( Brand, ETC ) until I get a chance to review it myself.

I'll let you guys know what I think after I give it a few test runs.

I move around quite a bit when I play out .
But most importantly, I need to be able to get out front during sound check.

Well you need to say sum'in before you start going to buy stuff. The cats here have some great ideas on a lot of equipment, so if you're in the market for a new gadget, put out a call.

Cisco dances around a lot, so he made a holster for it (because it doesn't come with one), he hops off stage, dances around, and it hasn't failed him. He had one before that and he always used to bitch about it. Now he praises this thing, so I know it's good.

You can always return it, and try the Brace.

If the one I have in route dos not meet my needs I'll do just that.

I bought a Sennheiser freeport about 8 years ago and had to replace it recently. Tha 2 I spent over 600 bucks on didn't work for hell or had a lot of problems out of the box. So I bought another freeport and it does what I expect without any problems at all. The reason I had to replace the old one was from throwing it on the floor too many times. I think with the rebate I recntly paid a little under 200 bucks for it. The Sure I bought was 850.00. Boy did it suck!!!

I got an "audio technica" about 4 years ago. Still like new. Payed about $200 for it. Never noticed tone change or drop out. Generally, I don't use it unless I'm outside playing, then distance will change tone anyways if I'm wired. Such as if I were to take a 16' cord plug it into a foot-switch from my amp, then a 20' cord to my guitar. Sounds the same as if I were using my wireless. It is a single channel VHF unit which may present a problem for other units on stage. I don't know if there would be a bleed-over, I was told that's why they use multi-channel receivers on stage. At any rate, it works well for about 40'
