My performance at the x-factor competition at Awful Arthurs last Friday night. After you click the link you have to click "finalists" on the left and then I'm number 3.

Both winners flat out sucked, I couldn't stomach either of them. You did a much better job than either.

I was not impressed at all with the winners. That tells me that there are just bigger and better things ahead for you Neander.[/u]

Thanks friends.

. It was pretty frustrating in several ways. The blonde had a real package. She was young and hot. A real Carrie Underwood kind of appeal. Her choruses were a 10 in my book but her verses were a solid 8. The other winner was also young and attractive. But man his voice was soulless. I didn't see it coming at all. I really thought the other black guy was my only competition. I felt absolutely confident that he and I would be the top 2. His voice really was world class. But like me he wasnt young. I'm guessing 35. The thing is Simon Cowell has posted some videos saying what he's looking for. He wants a singer with power who has an edge. That intangible thing that sets them apart. American idol has the 29 year age limit. X factor doesn't. He even said he was looking for quirky, unique. Sounds like me. Down to the overalls even I am unique. I mran everyone else sang karaoke.I feel like the local judges were still in American idol mindset. There is always open auditions

It's a crying shame music and or vocalist competitions have little to do with music or vocals.
Sex sells everything these days. Paint some tits on your coveralls.
Perhaps then they will realize how talented you are.

Hey Paul,
What other songs did you perform to get to be a finalist? Did you loop harmonies on all of your performances?
Do you have clips from those as well?
I thought your rendition was pretty unique but a little distracting.
I don't really know much about the show is it just talent, just music or just singers?
What did you think of your performance?

I just looped Crossroads to be a finalist.
This is the video that got me in. It is the only one I submitted.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjvacflnBzY
That was the only song I sang that night as well. Each finalist got one song.
Simon Cowell says he's looking for unique singers. He's looking for that edge that sets you apart. He also wants the powerhouse singers.

The local judges may not have followed his new xfactor guidelines. The people who made it fit the American idol guidelines. I'm going to the open auditions. I hope the new rules will help me make the cut.

WTF? I had to sing with no music and you guys got music? Unfair, man.
1st chick - meh, she sounds like everyone else and that dress is hideous. 'Nuff said.
2nd dude - got vibratto? He's alright, but he needs to learn how to curb his vibratto. No class. Nothing special to look at either.
Paul - Couldn't you see that had "joke" written all over it? You're badass, and I'm not saying that just because you're on here and I know you either. It stings I know, because you got more personality than these two put together, but it just goes to show how lame people have become when they don't recognize talent.
