should song writing credits be divided equally among bandmates?
so as to not create animosity?how much of a contribution should a band member put in before they`re due a writing credit? where should the line be drawn?should you include all members to keep a good band together?

Usually writing credits are divided two ways: who wrote the lyrics, and who wrote the music. If you must give writing credits to a member even if they didn't really have much to do with the writing just to keep them happy...fill in your own conclusion.

Since Cisco and I are the songwriting team, I already let the band know that since we're dealing with peanuts right now, I'm reinvesting everything back into the band at this point if we make anything. However, if I was making enough, I would be paying my band out of it. I take care of my peeps, especially when they've stuck by me without asking for a dime as of yet. If they play on the material and they say, put a bass line on it that they came up with, I would put them on the songwriting credit.

I've been in this business a long time, I know who the flakes are, I know who's just a hired gun and I know who will be in for the long haul, and those are the people I don't mind sharing with. If it came a time where there was more than $100K rolling in on songwriting credits alone, I will make sure I make a deal that's fair for everyone.

I've seen so many people fall just out of stinginess and greed. I look at it from the Godfather standpoint, you take care of me, I'll take care of you when the time comes.
