One of the goals of Osama Bin-Laden was to bankrupt America. Kind of makes you wonder if Obama isn't a "plant" being he wasn't born in the U.S. and has significant roots in Islam. Wouldn't it be amazing if Obama is really a terrorist? Chances are he's not BUT almost everything that is happening points to him purposely trying to bankrupt this country. Bin-Laden achieved what he wanted...

He's just a socialist tool. Evil to the core. A liar, a thief, and a con man.

But he was placed there for one purpose. To destroy America.

It's almost time for the other shoe to drop.

The other shoe dropped during the Reagan years, gentlemen. Y'all were too toked up & coked up to hear it.

Do ya miss ol' Billy "BJ" Clinton, yet? You shouldn't. He sold off a helluva lot of US jobs, just like those before & after him.

C'mon! I'm so tired of the "wasn't born here / socialist / terrorist" rap I could vomit.

Price fixing by big oil was established during Carter - our first preacher president.

Basically, I think the pres is about as helpless to fix anything as any of you are. Congress, the entity who produces most of our pres's, has been corrupt for linger than I've been alive. State governors have also been some of the most corrupt ppl around, & they make up the bulk of the remainder of our pres's.

This guy is just another cog in the corporate political machine. No damned worse & no damned better than any of the others in my lifetime.

One of the things that is destroying America is that fiercely independent attitude that so many of us have to endure. You know, the idea that we don't NEED any civil transportation, cuz we should all drive our own cars. Who does that benefit? Insurabce, big oil, GM & their ilk, et al. Does it make America stronger? Not at all. Same holds true for health care, food production & distribution, gun ownership...All of these ideals that so many of us hold so dear are the very things that divide us from each other, keep us from banding together to fight those that would continually distract us from reaching any common goals as they herd us like sheep with the most simplistic propaganda.

You say it's "LIBS?" Sorry, JH, but that just makes you another sheep in wolf's clothing, attacking that which you cannot seem to understand.

Our gov't has become a bad joke. A parody of what it was meant to be. And it's working against our interests by hiding our interests from us with smoke & mirrors.

ok Philbydoode, I'm throwing down the gauntlet: I respectfully, and honestly ask you to please explain your understanding of our govt's purpose.

It just might help in future discussions, where the role of govt is involved.

You certainly nailed it with that graphic. I almost pucked when conservatives were saying of the Bush regime, "the adults are running things now.' right. There no adults in DC. A stinking pack of power hungry scum.

Phil, you so nailed it on the head. Obama can't do anything, Corporations rule the world. As soon as people get with the program, you'll know exactly who we've given our power away to. I mean, why are we aiding Libya? What the f**k do we really care what Qadaffi's doing? Oh wait, maybe in a goat barn they're hiding some weapons of mass destruction. With that $25 million investment, somebody's getting paiiiiiiid.

Here's an interesting watch:

The role of our gov't?

A) Protect the ppl it serves from dangers, both within & outside our borders.

===> OUR gov't quit doing that a long time ago. Ask JH about his experiences with illegals, for example. Ask yourself why Bin Laden still roams free. There are thousands of other examples of how our gov;'t is failing in its role, here, & I haven't the time to list them all.

B) Keep the economy fair for all.

===> OUR gov't quit doing that, by deregulating corp's. This was begun during the Reagan administration, & has continued unabated ever since, at the cost of us all.

C) Protect the privacy of its citizenry.

===> OUR gov't has sold it to the highest bidder. Co's are now allowed to control the every activity of their employees, both on the job & off, even down the their food choices, in many cases.

D) Bolster the economy when necessary, & do all it can to assure the citizen the ability to work if he/she chooses.

===> OUR gov't allows the selling off of American jobs, while cutting education that could provide out children with the leg up they'll need to compete with foreign workers.

E) Protect the environment

===> Need I say more?

F) Provide equal representation to all its citizens.

===> Talk to any DC resident.

G) Protect the citizenry from trusts, monopolies, price gouging practices, & such.

===> uh huh

H) ONLY go to war when our borders are endangered.

===> OUR gov't hasn't followed this since WWII.

I) Honor our treaties.

===> uh huh

That covers SOME of it, Rich. Most of it, actually, imho, though there IS more to it all, obviously. I hesitate to overexplain, though.

This country has already gone crazy.

You can point the blame everywhere.

You can defend what ever you think is right.

It is already coming down every man for himself.

This is not the country I was promised as a little boy.

This is not the country our founding fathers had such great vision for.

This is not the country of freedom and hope for a better tomorrow brought about from hard work and tremendous personal responsibility.

This has become a country of whipped little crying babies looking for an equal share even if they never contributed.

Welcome to the united socialist states of america.
I'm sorry mam, did you say you needed a roll of toilet paper,,, Please go stand on line.

Crazy, Crazy. I don't think so.
PS. The government better get to Bill Gates and Warren Buffet before they give away more money to charity, more than they can ever be taxed. Called free will in other circles, other than commies and socialist marxist thieves.

This country has gone crazy. :(

EVIL CORPORATIONS. This one blows me away.
Does any one think that after I have invested many years and much money to grow a small company,,, That if I hire you for 60 thousand a year and another 40 grand to comply with all the GOVERNMENT regulations attached to giving you a JOB. That you are suddenly entitled to all my Blood, Sweat , and Tears. GO TO HELL, Go find another job while you still have some freedom of choice.

As far as all the brainwashed comments I read here,, There probably isn't one thing, Not one lamp or electrical cord, or guitar or amp or computer or cell phone or refrigerator or toilet bowel or floor or roof or box of cereal that wasn't brought to you courtesy of some big evil corporation that brought it to you at a COMPETITIVE price that all the poor overtaxed workers could afford. Please don't go spouting of examples of one or two rotten apples because most of them were encouraged by big evil government regulations.

Don't tell me NO, It is our government that is collecting all the hidden taxes and causing that dozen eggs to cost that much more, and then blaming it on the big evil corporations.

Equation- competitive corps=more goods and services at better prices/non competitive government taxes= higher cost, less choice of goods and services and YOU LOSE!

Most of all don't tell you are paying $4 a gallon for gas because of evil corporations,,, This time it is because our government has destructively set out on a path to devalue the dollar, and as every one knows oil is not based on any other standard other that the US dollar. Oil production in our country is down 14% due to the drilling moratorium. Welcome to America were our government takes real care not to harm us. :(

Hey Phil, Not to pick on you my friend, and feel free to dispute history the way I see it . This just keeps coming back to your repeated jabs at Reagan.

Woodrow Wilson, saw a huge debt left over from WW1. On top of that he enjoyed being the top dog in a controlling socialized government. People were out of work tax rates as high as 95% we almost had the great depression 10 years early. Warren Harding elected next, slashed tax rates ,max to 45% , employment increased, productivity improved, died of a heat attack in office, [to much unregulated food, arbies] enter Calvin Coolidge, reduced taxes even more[35%] result the roaring 20s where even the working man could almost afford a model T Ford.
Flash foward,
J Kennedy was actually an amazing leader in his understanding of American talent. I think he had tremendous foresight for such a young president to recognize the economic challenge presented by the former Soviet Union that wanted nothing better than to blow our asses away.
The one challenge that he laid down became known as the "Space Race"
AAAHHH Research and development that came out of so many evil corporations that helped NASA eventually land a man on the moon. NASA did not do it only on taxpayer dollars but mainly on the entrepreneurship of private companies like Grumman and Schlick Razor.[They were a major developer of titanium a very useful metal] This all led to an economic boom for our country, tax rates were low and stable.

Enter LBJ, It wasn't his war and I grant him that, But he had visions of a GREAT SOCIETY. Even with an ongoing conflict in Vietnam, the money of all wealthy economy was too much temptation. The wheels were set in motion and the social spending begun. Policies that were put in place bankrupted NYC.[Few years later, granted] Nixon wasted his presidency on a failed conflict and weak domestic policy and a few breakins, G Ford was just strong enough to bring our troops home, the economy was faltering and in steps another hope and change guy. J Carter.

Now don't get me wrong about president Carter, deep down everyone has these same ideals of love and compassion for our fellow human beings. He just stepped in at the wrong time and place with to much agenda and not enough economy to absorb it.
Corporate tax rate was at 55% mortgages were running 16 17% unemployment was running at an accurate 16% this country was a MESS!

Notice I didn't outright blame any of the 4 preceding presidents.
In steps R Reagan. Slashed government interference on evil corps. Net result , unemployment went from 16% to 6% in 2 years. Inflation ceased, mortgage rates dropped and I was ecstatic when I could get a mortgage on my first home for only 8% Our country stabilized, our military was once again saluted, and people were once again back at work. The soviet regime collapsed and for the first time I wasn't looking up for a nuke about to fall on me.
We went from outright national disaster back to outright national an international stability almost overnight, and twenty five years later your still bashing the Gippur.
What did I miss here and what great socialized program were you excluded from.
The floor is yours my friend.

Oh here is perfect example of government regs.

This summer , July 4 weekend , I could park my truck in a private yard for 3 days and let a fireworks company refuel the 100 trucks they run. Even if I charged them 2 grand over cost of product they would still be way ahead as far as time lost and premium paid for small sales at stations.

The state will not grant a diesel permit to distribute unless I shell out 6000 to have a "CERTIFIED PUBLIC AUDIT DONE" Let me see make 2 spend 6 uuummm I pass.

Note: Government regulations just stopped an American citizen from legally and with all intent to pay all taxes due from PROSPERING. Further not allowing another company to attempt to lower their overhead and thus actually producing more taxable income.

As I said at the beginning of my tirade, this country has gone crazy!
