From The Beginning by Emerson Lake and Palmer
There might have been things I missed
But don't be unkind
It don't mean I'm blind
Perhaps there's a thing or two
I think of lying in bed
I shouldn't have said
But there it is
You see it's all clear
You were meant to be here
From the beginning
Maybe I might have changed
And not been so cruel
Not been such a fool
Whatever was done is done
I just can't recall
It doesn't matter at all
You see it's all clear
You were meant to be here
From the beginning

Depends when you ask me. Right now I'm digging just about any Scream'in Jay Hawkins. Yellow Coat, Little Demon, Frenzy, even Orange Colored Sky. I'm also really enjoying some of the Ford Theatre Reunion tunes, especially All Aboard and Soul Of A Man. I even like the originals the new band I'm in is working on: The Man, Heart of Gold, Tell Me About the Blues, You Can Take A Pill. Hopefully someday those tunes may be somebody else's favorite songs, so much so that they even buy our upcoming CD...

The one that I am learning and composing at the time. Of all the dozens of songs that I like, that's always my favorite song.

Im a Zep head so I like Stairway To Heaven.
This one song embodies all the things I like in heavy rock.
Acoustic guitar and flute to start.
Really massive drums when they kick in.
Well thought out lyrics.
Great Tasteful Guitar Solo.
Its heavy at the end.
The only part I find lacking is a really distinctive bass line.
And I know as a muscian we are all supposed to hate the song cause its been done to death. But I still love the song, plus the whole mystery side of Zep. A band such as this couldnt exist today, with youtube and all the things that show just how goofy muscians really are, but between 71-76 this band and its music was what most of us would have loved to been.

ummmm... gotta find the vid of my band covering it note for note...I even learned the keyboard parts to the note on guitar and used chorus and bridge pickup on my guitar to try and replicate the sound almost exactly like the organ... Played it out sooo many times that we finally trashed it! C'mon... I thought every musician had that one down to the note.... It's like not being able to replicate "Sunshine of your Love" by Cream

Gimme Shelter, but only the studio version off of Let It Bleed. I've heard OK covers, and OK live Stones versions, but from the first pick stroke on the studio recording there is an amazingly foreboding, and ominous vibe that I can listen to again, and again.
