After listening to Barack Obama's speech the other day about raising taxes on the rich I had an epiphany, a revelation if you will. After hearing Barack smear the rich, saying that their tax breaks would leave the elderly and disabled people in a terrible way AND that rich people actually would AGREE with raising their taxes, I immediately had this incredible idea to run my very own telethon. I'd run it around Independence Day and call it fisherman bob's telethon to end the deficit. And my "kids" would be all federal employees who depend on the government for their employment. HEY JOE WAKE UP AND LISTEN TO ME DAMN IT. Just as Jerry Lewis' kids benefit by the Labor Day telethon, fisherman bob's kids would also benefit. I would reach out to all millionaires who feel guilty and ask them to call in and pledge very generously. I'm talking especially about the filthy rich liberal millionaires like Michael Moore, Sean Penn and Barbara Streisand who could literally put their money where their mouths are. I would even implore George Sorros to call in a pledge. Even those conservative millionaires like Rush Limbaugh would be encouraged to call in a healthy pledge. If Rush can pay Elton John a million to perform at his wedding he can easily pledge tens of millions of dollars. HEY JOE IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP AND LISTEN TO MY GREAT IDEA. Bill Gates could easily afford 100 million dollars. The oil companies who are destined to earn billions of dollars in profit from the obscene gas prices would feel guilty enough to call in and donate BILLIONS of dollars. Perhaps the Chinese who are notorious for not honoring intellectual property rights and manipulate foreign currencies to our disadvantage would feel so guilty they would actually forgive billions of dollars of our debt. Even the NFL owners and players who are now both getting negative PR would feel guilty enough to pledge millions of their 9 billion dollars in profit so that they can finally get some warm fuzzy positive PR. HEY JOE WAKE UP. All this would most certainly help fisherman bob's kids. Hell, even Barack himself would be embarassed enough to call in. Maybe he could donate his money that he got with the Nobel Peace Prize. And what entertainment I would have. Neanderpaul would sing the National Anthem. jw123 could perform with his band, Jimmy and Paleopete, Noisy Kung Fu, maybe even a few of the bands I'm in. WAKE UP JOE. Barack is a genius. In his speech he made the rich feel so guilty they would be happy to donate. And of course myself being the perceptive individual that I am, immediately thought of this great way for our country to get out of debt and all WITHOUT having to raise taxes. What better way to help this country and what better day to do it on than July 4, and all to help fisherman bob's kids. IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP JOE...
