Sorry for the non musical post . I thoght I might share the wonderful week I've had for my friends here and hope some of the younger ones out here get something from this post.
Last Friday my wife celebrated her 50th birthday. We went to dinner and I gave her a nice ring. We had a wonderfull eveningtogether.
On Saturday I had a nice party for her and the new band I've been playing with came out, and my sons band came and we rocked the whole neighborhood. It was a good time till the drummer started with some unusual drama that stole the show. Too bad but maybe another drummer will have to come out.
As a lot of you know I'm in love with a roller derby queen. My youngest daughter helped start the Quad squad 4 years ago and my wife has been skating with them for 2 years. Its something I worried a lot over knowing it might be just a matter of time before she got hurt. Some think its a bunch of fake stuff like wrestling or something , but those girls go out there and get pretty rough with each other and give it their all.
On Sunday my wife took a pretty bad hit on the head , but got back up and finished practice . She complained a bit about a headache Monday and tuesday ,showed uo to practice Wednesday and during a bout broke her ankle in three places. Thank God the team doctor was there and got her into a splint, gave her a script for some pain killers and set us up an appointment early and took great care of her. The medicne we thought made her nauseus and the Doctor gave her some more stuff to help and we called lt an evening. I put her to bed with an appointment for surgery next wednesday.
About 2:15 Friday morning I had to call an ambulance after she had a hellistic seizure bit her lip, blood pouring out her mouth and breathing like she was dieing, and scared the piss out of me. It took forever to get the ambulance here it seemed , but I've never seen Lexington County Hospital move as quick, and she was in surgery by 6:15 for a sublateral hematoma. They shaved half her head , cut a hole to get the blood out, and put her back together.
I want to thank everyone for the prayers. It seemed a bunch of angels gathered around her and have taken wonderfull care of her. We hope she will be out of the hospital early in the week and she will still get the surgery on her ankle on wednesday, but it will take a few weeks for her to get back on her feet.
My point to this post is lately I see and hear of a lot of people not taking advantage of every second they have to their fullest. Don't think a second you are promised another day or minute. Life is short and sweet
But I want you to know how much I admire the ones that give and live like maybe one day we will live in paradise, and know that family or friendships, like some I've made here , is all that really matters.
