Any Gibson/Fender/Gretsch etc. models that everyone seems to love that isn't for you? Mine is Strats. I've tried to like them, but just can't. It's not a Fender thing...love my Tele, Esquire, and Mustang.

I know what you mean Dajax, I can only play one in a hundred. But when I get my hands on that one - look out!

Steinbergers.. Can't do it man. Not into those at all. Sound great, but I can't get past the headless/small body thing.

Gibson SG's ... They look awesome but I just can't get over the feel and sound of them :? I coul've bought an very high end SG for practically 1/2 price at GC at the end of the year sale.... Piqued my interest but just couldn't handle the sound or the feel of it...ended up walking out with yet another LP.

Jackson flying V, a la Randy R.

Hate the way it feels when I play it.

I guess for me its a Strat, Ive got a really nice one, but i just have no desire to paly it, unless im doubling rythym tracks. This past weekend I didnt even consider taking it to a gig, instead I took the strap locks off of it and put them on the ole Gibson ES-135, and hell I didnt play it either! Just stuck to the Les Pauls.

The guy that took my place in AYM for a few years played 5-6 songs and he was commenting on FB about how heavy it sounded, the ole Mesa Triple and the Classic Les Pauls. I just love that combination, it works for me.

Paul Reiser PSRs. They seem to be high quality but don't work for me at all. And while I love my Strat with the maple neck I really don't like 'normal' strats with the rosewood necks.

Don't have an SG now, but had 2 over the years including a late 60s Special like Townshend's Live At Leeds era. The only thing about them that bugged me was how headstock heavy they are. If you use a nylon seatbelt material strap and take your hands off the guitar that headstock always starts heading south!

Strats. I had one before and didn't like it. Too twangy for me. Of course, at least half of the players I like use Strats. I'm a humbucker guy.

Funny, I have two Les Pauls and I don't really like either of them. Weird huh? The first is a 55 LP Junior ( a real one) that was a hand-me-down from family. The single P90 pickup sounds great but the neck is really wide with a very flat fretboard. It was designed as a student guitar and in spite of the fact that it looks great and just oozes history, I don't like to play it much.

The second is a 2009 LP Studio Sunburst that I bought in honor of Les Paul when he passed away. I have tried to love this guitar but keep running back to my Tele and Strat. I am just a single coil guy. Perhaps it needs a new home and someone who really appreciates a fine Gibson LP.

In order to really appreciate a Les Paul, you have to play either a Custom or a Standard... P90's don't do the guitar justice and Studios are the "cheaper" version of the Paul....although my favorite guitar of all now is my Silverburst Studio...only because they use the same hardware, neck and fretboard as the standard... It's just a little lighter...that's it... cost twice as much as the other studios but honestly sounds and feels better than both my standards and my Classic....this baby SCREAMS on stage!

My problem with them was the "sustain" factor... I think they're made for a more crunchier, high range sound ( my opinion only) I was at the store and played the paul and sg side by side..switching back and forth and the low's and mids on the Paul blew the sg away.... I guess it's a matter of taste.. as far as the neck and fretboard... they're exactly the same.. Like I said, I could've saved a bundle purchasing the SG on that particular day as they were having a "1/2 off sale " on that item... but..why? even if it meant more $$ in my pocket, would I buy something that I didn't like from the get-go?

My LP Goddess is quite headstock heavy.
I have grown accustomed to it and in fact now I feel it is an advantage when I play. When I'm really getting into a heavy rhythm I tend to bounce around like Tiger.
The forward gravity of the neck helps keep my left hand in place with a little less thumb stress.
