Does any one remember RIDE CAPT RIDE? First I didn't know the bands name, and second the questions raised about the lyrics are amazing. Remember this was 1968, L.S.D. was still legal.

That was a really great song. I wonder if that band had any more hits or was it a one-hit wonder band. Also was there any band members who went on to bigger things with other bands?

Actually it was 1970 but close enough.

Never heard of him. Thanks for the info. It's fascinating to see what became of some of the old bands. Looks like just about every member did something with somebody after the band break-up.

Mike Pinera was also in Iron Butterfly after Blues Image, and I think the New Cactus. "Ride Captain Ride" was from that very special summer of 1970, along with "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry.

Glen, watched your vid and I have to smile real big when I see those white legs, shorts and white socks on that big stage at a night show.

Ha ha, lyric interpretations can be fun with a bunch of know-it-alls, ha ha.

Put it this way, the song is whatever you want it to be about. From looking at the words, you could pretty much fit anything in there. I've seen lyrics written on the fly and most of the time, they're stringing words together that sound good, but ask them to explain, they wouldn't have a clue, or the real answer is nowhere as interesting as people's minds were going with it.

Yep! Got ten for a buck at Walmart. Clothes out. Pun intended. So thin that when it's 95 out don't feel like I'm wearing nothing at all,[wife won't let me run around nekid no more, says I'm scarin the neighbors]
But that's ok, down to my last pair, and the rest are just used to scare the neighbors.
What I don't understand is none of the neighbors wives complain,,, they just get real neighborly.

Any way Klug, thank you for payin' so close attention to my pants. As I get older fewer and fewer people do. Shoot, come to think of it this goes all the way back to my Momma when I was just a tiny hiny. Soon as I learned to walk she showed me where the terlet was.

Next time I go flying it will be totally nekid if it is hot enough. My only fear is that you will be reading about the crash that my wife caused.
