Capitalist pigs. This exactly why we need our government to take over all corporations immediately.
How dare they make money off their name without selling one single record.
Oh the shame of it,,, Qadaffy, were are you when we need you most.

That's a BRILLIANT idea! What about cahnging an individual's name with a dot com? I'll change MY name for 251 K. How about PreparationH.com Hayett? Or KYJelly.com Hayett? Or Viagra.com Hayett? Just think of the possibilities...Change my name legally EVERY year for 251 K. Then I wouldn't have to do sh*t but sit on my ass...

Man, these corporations will use anything they think is hip in their marketing campaigns. I honestly wouldn't doubt if they started coming here to solicit independent musicians for hire.

Come here to recruit? (hand goes up) Choose me! I sold out once already and all I get for it some dough and a chance to kiss corporate ass. I'd much rather collect some money and do what I wish!

Was it the first one that had "Death" in it? Geeze. I'm cracking up just typing this and thinking about it.

Of course it's selling out.
And I probably won't buy the album. Oh, wait, it's going to be free. I still won't download it. Unless, of course, it's really good music.
OTOH, 'selling out' is not an absolute. Reading the article, this band probably did the Right Thing. The next band to come along and do it will likely be wannabes.
Clever ideas that only work once should only be done once, but there's always some loser who's convinced that it'll work for them as well. Then it's just a gimmick, not a clever idea at all.
So, no, I wouldn't do it, but I'm not going to fault these guys for it.

I think it was the second one where Jim Morisson appears to him and gives him the idea to do Waynestock. The first one was with his girlfriend and his show was sponsored by that corporate guy. I think that's how it went.
