Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

Althought they've died down a bit, there are still lots of reality TV shows on and there are quite a few that get such a following it's rediculous. I just had a good idea, though I dont think BandMix would listen to me. But, here's the idea.

Cast BandMix members to all 'stay in a house together' (as every other reality show), but here's the catch, make a band that can actually play and function together. I'm sure there's already a reality show like this, it sounds familiar, but I don't remember the name of it. But, if BandMix did this, they'd be promoting their names, giving us all a little fun, and perhaps, give us a chance to create a band. Hell, you can even do the funny auditions like Idol for the people who THINk they can play!

It's just an idea. I think we should all run this idea by BandMix, or who knows, maybe the BandMix mods will read my post...eh, I doubt that haha!

Sounds like a great a idea AustinTatious , then having us wait a lifetime getting responses from other ppl wanting a band. Then having turndowns like if it was getting a date lol. Maybe for the casting they shud have ppl send their videos of themselves doing their thing. Then they put the ppl in different bands, so they have to compete which band can go for it. For some reason I remember VH1 bk in 2000 doing this, where they made a band and they have to promote themselves being a independent band they are.

Hmm yeah, it was just an idea, it's not like there's much activity on these threads anyways, lol, but yeah the multi-band, then competition thing would be interesting Who knows, now that I've said the idea I'm sure something like it will happen, and I wont even be involved lol!!

I had a similar idea, except my idea was more like a american idol type where you have a bunch of bands tryout, let say 25 go to hollywood and then do a elimination type of thing. The winner would get a recording deal.

They made a band reality show once. It got turned into a film, and its title was "This Is Spinal Tap".
