I had to do it, I had to post another ad on CL. I realize that I can't put my eggs in one basket. I want to find someone concrete, and not too confusing or flaky.

Well, here's the scoop. One bass player is out...he flaked. I'm still waiting for the other guy to call, but I don't think I'll answer. I'm on the fence about something...he's 17. Just found out today(bassist). It didn't really fade me at first, but now it does. His voice mail greeting reminded me just how young he really was, all shy...etc. I bet his dad is a little older than me. I'll pass. The thought of it makes me feel awkward and uncomfortable.

Everything else is still good. Time will tell what's going to happen next. But, it never hurts to find more than one musician in case the other one doesen't work...I'm learning that one fast!

What do you guys think? Do you still post bulletins even after you've had a few responses?

right or wrong, I think you got to keep working it till you find a group that fits, that's what I'm doing and the results are not the best with bm or cl, but I keep pushing

I talked to my newfound drummer, and it's all good! He likes my ideas, and after he learns some songs, we'll be jamming together. There's another bass player possibility too. My spirits are lifted!

But, I still need to hit it hard for a bass player anyways.

So far, my connections for members have been made through CL and ReverbNation(surprisingly) I've corresponded with a lot of cool musicians on BM through IM, and of course, the forum(which is where the best people are;))

There's no way it could take you as long to find people as it did me, Lynard. It took me a year and a couple of months! I posted new audio and it worked out finally!

I listened to Nessie, and believe it is well arranged, and has a good mix of influences.

I generally don't take flaky musicians as a personal assault. Instead I talk to them and find out why they aren't interested in working on my project. Of course, at this point, I'm not interested in working with them either....but.....

This gives me feedback that I can use (based on credibility) to change something that I just didn't see (or hear), from someone else's point of view.

Krul, really man, just don't stop. Go to open mics, go to Guitar Center, Sam's Ass, anywhere. I gave up too many times in the past because I allowed flakes to get the better of me. I can't tell you how many times I thought I had been cursed under a bad star, but I realize there's a such thing as Universal timing and you'll know when it's your time. It's like when you meet true love, you just know, and it's like you refuse to take "no" for an answer. I think I understand that now. I had a Scarlet O'Hara fist-shaking moment where I said "I'll never stop doing music again."

We have to build each other up and support one another. Sure we may not agree on politics or religion, but we do agree that we need to not give up on our art.

Good advice scratchy, I believe I'll try to learn something from the flaky musicians, I've played with, recently I've just ignored them, tou know don't take there calls, or answer there emails. It was so much easier in the old days you just slapped them or usually just told them you were going to slap them and they were gone.

I mean it good advice never pass up an opportunity to learn, I'm trying to soak up all the music info I can

Scratchy, why would I ignore you?...I'm not the self-righteous type...even though I have a big mouth sometimes Thanks for listening! I'm glad you like what you heard. Actually, I'm surprised that I've gotten the feedback on it that I have...cause it's just me being me.

At this point, I'm in no way interested in the flakes. I had a feeling that the first guy was a clown who really didn't care about much in general by the things he said, and the kid pussed out on me last night. Two bassists out. Good things with my new drummer though! He's the important piece cause he's got more experience than me, and is obviously a better drummer than I ever was. It seemed like I really had to prove myself to him though...maybe I'm wrong. I sent him a file with me playing guitar and bass to jam to, and then called him last night to confirm that he got it. Seems like I needed to show playing ability and dedication...cause getting him to respond wasn't working.

Chaeya, it's obvious that you have had the same feelings as me. True love is a good example of my current situation. Cause I think if I was to slack off on pursuing this drummer, then I might risk losing. Now, I have to re-work a schedule to set up practice, and see if I can get the spot at the right time. Not only that, but I have to record a couple rough tracks tonight for him to work on...which is something I'm more than happy to do. My persistence finally paid off, I knew it when he offered to talk to a bass player he knew. Last night was the biggest sigh of relief for me! Finally, something fell in place!

So, I have an altered ad up looking for the other half of the band. If I can get a bass/vocalist then I'm ready to go. The sooner the better. And yes, I need to go look to other resources and put myself out there!

Life is worse than mundane without a band. I feel like I'm out of my environment. I've tried adjusting to other ways of living, but I always go back to playing. One way or the other, it has to be there for me, no matter what else I have going on...

Man, that is so true! As much as I can't stand the leeches and hanger-ons that try to mess up the green pasture, I still dive in with open arms every time. I'm not leaving musicianhood for any reason, ever again.

Aside from just enjoying the music, I know there's always the business part, and goofy people. Well, I've opened my arms and welcomed back the dirty whore with a strong embrace!

And I always end up picking up my instrument when I don't feel like it at all. I just have to. It's a strange thing!
