We mixed "Now They're Dead" and remixed "Huffin' Gas", nudged the vocals up a bit. Listen to the Jack Bruce effect we put on the bass. Mastering is next week.

Thanks AW. This is the longest we've ever taken to do a CD, 11 sessions so far.

In my not so humble opinion ... you should have left it alone.

We will see how it comes out after mastering.
The final EQ, makes a lot of difference.

Sometimes music can be over-produced. It can take the spontaneity out of it.

You want sponteniety come see a show. Until then I'm adding a string section, timbales, mandolin, accordian, a choir and a triangle.

Good Stuff Jimmy!

Im in agreement with you, studio and live are two seperate animals.

In the studio, make it as good and thick as you can so when you listen back 5 years from now, you dont start thinking about what you should have done.

Keep On Rockin Jimmy!

Ever heard of Mutt Lang? He mastered Def Lepard in a way that the band members didn't recognize the music, but put in perspective that we can all enjoy. Its not that the music wasn't there, but, he made it flow, the way their careers did after his input, dig? 8)

I don't believe I'm saying this or this is coming out of my mouth, but the guitars need to come up just a tad to blend better with your vocals. Still your vocals should be on top, of course, but I think you know what I mean. Otherwise, it's good.

I like punk, so it all works for me. I like Now They're Dead, I like the guitar riff on Huffin' Gas.

If Mary put a off-beat flute part on them, that would be killer, just to give it a sort of insane element.

Thanks for the advice. We've wrestled with voice vs guitar levels and I'm pretty much convinced that the voice has to be on top, especially for our style where we want the lyrics to be understood. At one point you just have to let it go and move on.
