...there's absolutely NO STOPPING this trio I'm in. Can't wait to post our music on here, either studio works or Youtube vids. Alexander and the Greats is the name of the band. A good power trio: 1+1+1=infinity. I've never heard anything like us...I've never been involved in anything like us...

Nothing like three great players to put it all together. Oh by the way I have made this musical comment many , many , times before.
Bob you are a great Bass player... I hope some of these guys realize the amount of talent required to hold a three piece together. Don't mean fancy pedals or tricks or BS. It means some one that is at a higher level that can create and interact even in a live situation.
KUDOS to you Bob!

Bob,
I want to hear it too. I played about 99% of my gigs with pieces. I always preferred it that way.
One band I was in did have a rhythm player but I used to unplug the jack slightly so there wasn't any sound coming from the rhythm players amp.

Thanks, the music already posted on my profile will be a lot different than this new band. Totally different concept. I'm enjoying it because we're doing mainly originals. It's what I've wanted to try for YEARS. Kansas City is such a conservative town musically, it's hard to find experienced musicians who think there's merit in going the original route. This drummer we've added is all for originals, he's also tired of the covers (like me) and also he's retired from his day job and receiving a good retirement income so he's got plenty of time to work out his drum parts. We're doing a Battle of the Bands in March. I can't imagine any new band with a trio of people like us. Whether we win or not is irrelevant, there's going to be HUNDREDS of new fans for us. If we win we'll get some money and more important we'll get 20 hours of free recording time. THAT could be all we need to produce a CD as we only have three people. We'll be recording, at least a few Youtube vids, in the near future. I'll post them here for sure...

Very Cool!!

I started out playing nothing but originals but changing times, economics and a move to the midwest dictated many years of classic rock cover bands....I'm ready to complete the circle.

It's funny you mention moving to the midwest dictating cover tunes. I've heard that for over twenty years here in K.C. I liken cover tunes to pizza. No matter how good a particular piiza might taste, if you eat it huundreds of times you feel like barfing. At this point I could care less about cover tunes. Yeah, we'll do some at every gig OUR way. It'll be the same pizza but with new and better toppings...

He..I like the pizza analogy! My last band Stonetree was all about that.
We played both covers and originals but we definitely put our own stamp
on the covers. I'd rather have a hot lead enema while eagles pick my
eyes out than to ever try to copy someone else's record again.

Yeah Bob,
But even if you eat pizza every day your bound to get a really good one from time to time that makes you want more.
