Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

The one I follow is to read all the post and partake in the ones dealing with subjects of interest disregarding whenever possible the form in which it's presented and concentrating instead in the point of view or message.

The written form is in part limited to the ability of the writer and the understanding ability of the reader to express and read a concept, an idea or a message prone to misunderstanding and at times not clear cut in the mind of some readers.

I’ve been guilty of misunderstanding few posts provoking to the dismay of original poster an unnecessary reply which missed the point altogether but I’m not the only one it seems.

With this in mind IMO it would be useful to avoid conflicts to navigate through the forum with the necessary discretion while allowing lively debates when it's warranted to take place.

This post was prompted by the ongoing bickering of some due to their inability to overcome the form in which some others choose to express their point of view, like the Fisherman said… this is cyber space which lends itself to bypass the unpleasant and dwell on the agreeable.

Wish I could do the same in the real world with the same ease it can be done here.

Bunch of Bitches on this forum who whine when things don't go the way they want it.

Some cant contribute to a discussion without attacking the poster on a personal level, which turns the post into a personal shouting match.

A small click of dullards and Fascist types who should just take their
marbles and leave.

I have news for those pussies.....the real music world out there is not much different then what goes on in this forum.

Go hide your head in the sand......or learn how to cope and communicate in a mature, intelligent manner.

Eh...I try to live & let live, these days. When I state my opinion, it isn't gonna change just cuz you might call me a stupid asshole, so I dunno why ppl bother to do that.

The name-calling has gotten a bit nutso, though.

I mean, when you open something with stuff like the following:

or

I can't really take you seriously when you follow it up with:

...cuz you've just lowered yourself below the position of those you have described. It REEKS of hypocrisy, & simply looks too juvenile to respond in that "mature, intelligent manner."

But, to the poster's credit, he gave me a good laugh...at his expense...but he has definitely told us all that HIS is the only opinion that is worthwhile on the forum, & he fully intends to bully his way through everything & everyone who disagrees, or calls for some sort of respect (which he obviously lacks) or manners (which he seems totally ignorant of).

I'd dearly love to see how these ppl would get along in an office environment, where manners & respect count...or perhaps a fancy social affair...(do these ppl even get laid? How do they possibly talk to women, or kiss them...with all that crap on their breath? Perhaps that would explain why they're so angry & confrontational all the time...)

Considering what people have to endure in real life maybe in cyber space the reaction you have suggested is the right one.

It's like walking down the street and a disagreeable person is approaching most would cross to the other side to avoid him, personality conflicts is a vortex if one gets too close to it gets emotionally sucked in, the best way IMO is to bail out before emotions flare up.


I have to remind myself constantly of this and when I forget to heed the reminder I feel like sh#t afterwards.

I don't think there's any rule of thumb when it comes to a forum. Simply ignore posts that disgust or personally attack someone, that's all. I don't take anything on here personally. I know that if you met me in person you probably would be a lot more careful what you said and vice-versa. There's a big difference between saying things and knowing there's no harm coming to you and being respectful in person. The forum is nothing but fun for me, disgusting posts and personal attacks notwithstanding.

I took no offense to your little tirade, child...& I think, if you read what I wrote, that it's quite clear that I wasn't "bitching." Don't put words in my mouth - it's unsanitary! & don't attribute feelings to me that I simply don't have, either. I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy of your outlandish post. But please - don't let that stop you from putting your ass on your shoulders & telling me what's what. i'm so sure that I deserve it.
