Okay so as a serious musician obviously many of us have spent long hours pondering effective ways to get plays/traffic/sales etc. I have tried countless different methods some of which are effective and others which have simply fizzled. I will get to my point now because I know that internet readers have notoriously short attention spans so I present this for all of your consideration.

What have been some of the most effective promotions methods that have worked for you? What are you trying now? What has failed? You probably get it by now!

I can't state that these are unequivocal as I have not tracked incidence vs input. But the "feel" of things would accept this in descending order of effectiveness over the last three years.

I don't believe anything we have utilized could be classified as an epic failure though MYSPACE is definitely in first place for the bullshit award IMO.

You do know that your reply has literally nothing to do with my post. In fact, its more like you've scribbled some of the darkness that is obviously abundant within your psyche onto the screen. Things like this can be quite interesting given the proper tools to dissect them.

In psychology we use the term 'projection'. Essentially this is where you fail to realize that the person or persons you are 'actually' talking to have nothing to do with the accusations that you are making. Despite this obvious fact you seem to have selected me as a 'target' for you to unload some of your pent up rage at others who have seemingly (at least in your mind) committed the wrongs against you in the past of which you accuse me of.

I could go further examining each of your flawed assumptions about the meaning of my original post and how you twist the literal meaning of the words it contains so that you can relate it into something to be upset about but I shall not. Such an analysis of this event would surely be a waste of time.

I'm still trying to figure out what ego statistical is. Cocky about being a statistician?

Year of the Moth got a ton of web site traffic, myspace traffic and in the end, Facebook traffic by simply keeping a list of people we met, getting as much contact data on eveyone in real life. Then we found an on line promotions guy who likes us and he went nuts for us.

So, just plain old networking and finding the right people.

I listened to "Immortal" and if your tapes were in my cutting room, I would splice out the vamp between :51 and 1:14 : just go right into the solo after the end of the first verse.
Also, get your singer to jog around the block once, get him back into the studio and then belt out the vocals (trust me, it works).
And I would try to get more articulation out of that singer.

Otherwise, I like it.

get a website and use seo to boost the page rank. that will get you more views and that will get you more sales
