Dude.. wait'll ya see the responses..lol.. This exact "scenario" must have been bought up no less than, no joking, at least 5000 times since I've joined! This place is a blast for talking all different sh¡t and learning and a ton of other things... I've never had to or even tried to use bandmix to find other musicians and yet for the last 5 years, I can honestly say I've never been without a band for more than 2 weeks! There are so many other local sites to acquire musicians.... I always either form a band or get into a band through 2 powerful sites: Facebook and Craigslist...never fails...also.... There ARE ways to actually connect with members on this site if you really wanted to...I never paid them a fukkin' dime! again...get ready for the fun responses   We are a fun fukkin' bunch!

Hey dude,

Does that mean you don't like it here? Wow. Now that's a first. I also wanted to contact a few people like Jimmy and Craig privately but was denied because I was not a premier member.

So big deal.

Someone has to pay the bills. May as well be you. Right? :) :)

If you want to contact musicians try this. Type in the name of your city & state along with the words local musicians. Then scroll down the list until you see Bandmix in the list. When I did that on Google, the Bandmix musicians in my area showed up on a Bandmix page. Go figure.

Honestly I could go into the long dissertation about how well BandMix works.
How it has provided me with musicians, fans, and venues to play with a minimal investment.

But ... what's the point

At one time I considered moving to AZ. Not anymore, seems like all I hear about is crazy asses in your state. Here's an idea, why don't you get one of those jobs you guys accuse the illegals of taking and then pay the ten bucks.

Whoever built this site obviously read Think and Grow Rich. Can't hate on anybody for being smart. Wish I could have been the one to come up with the idea.

If you had musicians rapping on your gararge door to jam with you, I bet you'd pay at least $20 for the service.

Excuse me while I go sign autographs.

What prevents someone from understand that utilizing someone else facility for his/her benefit may involve a fee to be paid?

Here’s a guy that would enter a restaurant with his own food demanding to be seated while asking to be served a glass of water for free.

First of all many of the profiles here have the actual name of the person. Some have phone numbers and email addresses on the profiles as well. Did you ever hear of a phone book or calling 411? You can contact some people here without paying a premier membership fee. Or how about putting your real name on your profile page, phone number, email so people can contact you. The "free" sites that people mention aren't really free. Some are chock full of banner ads. Some people pay extra to have their "free" ad reappear at the top of each heading every week. The "free" websites, Craig's List, Backpage.com. Facebook, etc. are RAKING IN MONEY. The Facebook creator is worth many millions of dollars, maybe BILLIONS. So your rant of Bandmix ripping us off doesn't hold water. EVERY successful website is not "free." WE pay for it all. I have found in my contacting musicians on all the websites that Bandmix has produced a higher quality musician. When somebody pays for something they usually are a little more serious about it. I also like how Bandmix is less cluttered with banner ads than some websites. It's easy to navigate. There's many cool features on here. I enjoy the forum and have made some good friends here. You complain about the one aspect that you disagree with, and many have complained before you about the same thing, but you need to look at all Bandmix has to offer. If everything is worthless to you then you're free to try other websites.

I haven't paid, found someone to jam with (we haven't jammed yet but we email daily and have made an awesome friend that I would never have found if I hadn't signed up)... I'm not serious. sure i want to do the odd gig and do some recording, but this is a hobby to me. My business provides me with the funds to keep this hobby going...

ya it bugged me at first when I went to try and contact people but I found ways to contact... umm chatting in the forums works good.

I think I'll go pay now just in spite LOL
