Have you ever tried, been trying, or have been in a film? If so, what did you do to get noticed? How did you go about it?

Seems like the project's dead, though... Shame, I gave a pretty decent interview.

A friend of mine owned a small video production company, making indie movies, commercials, music videos, etc. Some producers wanted him to make a low budget film about Kurt Cobain with them. I'd already done some videos and commercials with him that got aired on MTV. The owner of a record store wanted me to be in 'em cuz I always hung out there (think Jack Black in High Fidelity).

Anyway, this movie thing was offered to me because I kept getting, "Oh, my God! You look just like Kurt Cobain!" on a near-daily basis. I don't think so. The original plot seemed interesting, his last days, before committing suicide, being reenacted. But, they kept doing re-writes after re-writes, changed directors a couple times, etc. It kept getting shittier and shittier. HBO had picked it up and promised a bigger budget with each change, it seemed. But, I finally got fed up with it and quit. The project fell apart and went into limbo. Next thing I know, it is in a video store, directed by GUS VAN ZANDT! I rented the thing and it is a piece of sh*t. Almost no dialog. Kurt has zero lines at all, mute. It's just pathetic. But, Kim Gordon has a cameo. So, I regret that I could've hung out with her.

All I ever did was a few commercials, & I was a guest on a kids' show, & I did a local late-night MTV kinda video show, playing two of my own songs.

Walking down 18th Ave Brooklyn NY I was approached by a lady with clipboard and a Polaroid camera, she asked if I’d be interested in being an extra in a movie, I asked why me? She replied we need people with Italian looking faces, I said yes she proceeded to write my name and phone number took a picture of me and before she left I was told that if the casting director needed me I would be called.

Three days later I was called and instructed to show up at Ave. A Brooklyn NY at 7:00 AM, when I got there found out that the movie was The Godfather part2

I was a teen at the time and the whole thing was exciting to me, during the 4 days of filming I met De Niro, Coppola and the Italian actor in the white suit who got knocked off by De Niro's character, he didn’t speak English and I thanks to my parents speak Italian so during down time between shootings I hung out with the guy in his trailer, it was in February and was cold and his trailer was worm and had hot coffee.

Yes I got paid $150 per day, a month later Paramount Picture sent me a check for $600.

And that's my one and only movie experience.

Yeah I didn't know at the time but it turned out to be a classic, btw I almost got a speaking part in the movie, I was suppost to be the son of the mafia guy who orderd the grocery store owner to fire De Niro and to hire his son, unfortunatelly Coppola the director thought I was too young looking for the part.

Some guy called me from some agency. Apparently when MySpace was happening, I put in an inquiry for free...for giggles actually. This Hollywood type agent started bitching me out asking me if I was serious about this thing, because a lot of people were interested. He didn't tell me anything about anyone in particular though. I think it was just a scam to get $$$. I'll never know.

Well kru I wish I could say I was star struck but I wasn't, you have to remember that for De Nero this was one of his first major role in a major film, it was at the beginning of his career he was not as famous at the time as he is now, when I saw him the first time he looked young to me almost insignificant, I knew he was portraying the part of Vito Corleone and I remember wandering how Vito Corleone went from Marlon Brando to this young actor.

The impression that I got from him was an actor very polite shy almost insecure around the set.

When I saw the movie I realized that his demeanor was part of the character he was portraying, I guess he stayed in character even when not filming a technique most actor’s use I think.

I saw him again in his restaurant he owns a restaurant in Tribeca downtown New York close the twin towers which was closed for a while, when it opened again I took my lady as we often do to dinner to his restaurant he happened to be there that night but I did not approach him, but the impact of seeing him then was much greater than the impact he had on me the first time on that movie set.
