Playing it wrong all these years.

Ever see someone play something correctly that you thought you knew, and smack yourself in the head, thinking "why the hell have I been playing it like I have. I watched a ZZ Top in Texas concert on TV last night and the verse pattern for "Cheap Sunglasses"...sure is easier to get that quick G octave jump by just up plucking the open G string with your middle finger like he does, than doing an awkward pinky stretch and picking the 5th fret on the D string. And the funny thing is that I've always played the in between verse riff properly like that, but then have gone back to my goofball fingering for the verse.

That's pretty funny. I play some things wrong. I have some ingrained self taught incorrect techniques. I better just stick with them. lol. I get clumsy otherwise.

Oh yeah. I can still remember trying to learn the note-for-note solo on "Good times Bad Times" before I knew anything about Pull-offs and Hammer-ons.

e--------------------------------------
B----5/6------------------------------
G----6/7--------------0--0-------------
D----7/8---0-0--0--------------------
A----------------------1--3------------
E-----------1-3--3-3------------------

That's how I've always played it with a Wahh sweep on the A to Bb chord. All plucked, not picked.

Sample on my page coincidently.

You don't play anything wrong if it sounds good...
