gig'd last night: pay was quite high

Played out last night at a Salvation Army rehab center.

Being the season that it is, and the fact that most of these guys have
no family to sit around a nice table with, other than themselves: they are the most appreciative audience one could hope for.

It's a zero paying gig moneywise: but honestly, money changing hands would have corrupted the effect of having ministered to these fellas.

It was a real Jesus time, cause that's who He likes to hang around.

Cheers,
R

ps. played a bit of the Irish pipes, low whistle etc
The guys really dig the pipes!

Nice, Rich! Those kinda gigs are cool, too. But don't tell me you didn't get paid...looks like you were paid well enough, seein' how you feel about it today.

:D

A local underground punk venue, run out of a rented storage space, had a soup kitchen and donated supplies to people. We used to get donated food from a nearby co-op. I frequently volunteered, washing dishes and stuff. THAT's the kind of thing I love about punks.

That sounds like a very nice gig, indeed. Glad you were able to bring some smiles to some faces.

hafta say, of all the things I know/assume/hear about those who call themselves 'punk', serving at soup kitchens isn't top of the list!

but glad to hear it

Those are my favorite types of gig Rich.
I will admit, I like having the donations to help offset expenses at studio.
But a rockin fellowship is hard to beat. 8)
