The Copyrights for my last batch of 10 songs (mailed on July 16, 2008) just arrived today, 12-9-2010.
.
That is a Gvt. bureaucratic delay of 2-1/2 years.
.
What do you guys think abouy THAT?
Unbelieveable . . .
.
That makes 54 copyrighted songs, and over 40 more songs to go . . .

2 years? Wow!
I was going to send in some new things I came up with...guess I better get on it.
I guess you're safe as long as they were sent in?

The copyrights are retroactive to the day they got them.
.
It's faster to file online.
The on-line songs I filed a year AFTER I filed the above, - came in first.

I'm glad you got you CWs.
If it's truly retro then the wait is kind of irrelevant.
Frustrating ... but irrelevant.

There's local offices of the IRS where I can bring them my tax payments and they are credited THE MOMENT I BRING THEM IN. Too bad they don't have an office in the same building that accepts copywrites and credits you THE SAME DAY YOU BRING THEM IN. You would think that logically they would do something like that because theoretically you are going to SELL YOUR MUSIC ASAP AND START EARNING INCOME ON YOUR MUSIC WHICH YOU WILL PAY THE IRS THE TAXES YOU OWE ON YOUR EARNINGS ASAP, then you can bring in your tax payments to the same office and they get their money ASAP. Of course LOGIC never enters the discourse on how the governement operates, and streamlining paperwork will only SAVE the governement umpteen billions each year and also increase the rate of revenues each year BUT , NO, the red tape people have to get their worthless money first...

I've been filing mine online. It's best to do them online, which they encourage, because you can just print out your confirmation sheet. I just sent some off in August, so I'll see how long it takes.

I've lost patience with the federal government YEARS ago, so much I feel like running for President. I wouldn't mind having a debate with whomever is the Democratic nominee and the Republican nominee. Despite being a dumbass I believe I would embarass the crap out of either one in a debate...

I'm pretty impatient with the Library of Congress's bureaucracy, but there's nothing I can do about it.
.
And - by the way . . . did you know that 'bureaucracy' is pretty hard to spell?
