A sad anniversary

December 5/2010 3:30 AM just got home from a gig grabbed something to eat in the kitchen while watching a Fox special titled John Lennon last moments ( I think) where a chronicle of John Lennon and Chapman (Lennon killer)movements are recounted.

There have been several 70s rock stars who have self destruct in the prime of their careers but the death of my favorite Beatle somehow saddens me more so than others, maybe it’s because the manner in which he died or maybe it’s the time in which he died just when he had completed a comeback album called “Starting over” after a period of alcohol binges a marital troubles with Yoko and reunification with Yoko followed by the birth of his son Sean who gave him a new positive outlook on life and a renewed motivation for music. That title “Starting over” seems ironically cruel now.

It’s a sad chapter in the annals of Rock & Roll.

Yeah, I don't think that sort of 'Starting Over" is what he had in mind.

Yeah, I don't know what to say about that...
Imagine how the other guys must have felt.

One would have thought that someone may have taken a shot at him back when he said (And I paraphrase), "It's a sad state of affairs in london when the beatles are more popular than jesus christ".
With all of the dumb over reacting in the states.

He remains my musical hero.

Of all the premature deaths of rock stars Lennon's is the one that is the most insane. Many have self-destructed, drugs, alcohol, or died in car/plane crashes. To have one essentially assassinated is the height of insanity. One of the worst moments ever in the history of music...

Why would they George? If you're no one, no one cares when you're gone.

At the time of Lennon’s death pre Giuliani administration the FBI statistics posted 2K violent death per year in New York City, yeah other than families, relatives and friends nobody paid attention to those people.

As the old saying goes “what you don’t know won’t hurt you” but in the Lennon’s case he was not only well known but admired by millions.

I think you can relate to a tragic passing of one of your musical idol by emotionally reacting even for few minutes with fellow musicians and friends.

The only thing as tragic as Lennon's passing was Dimebag Darrel's incident. What a shame.

It only takes one psycho to take away the greatest of talented people. This is terrorism the white house never speaks of.

I don't see one mans violent end being any more tragic than another.

Just my take on it.
