Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

I just spent 2 1/2 hours talking to a guy I went to grade school with...who found me on FB and also saw my profile on Bandmix. We traded music stories, and generally found out that we are on the same page. I'm going to go jam with him tomorrow. I haven't seen this guy since @ seventh grade! I'm very excited-it's been a tough year, and I get to play with someone who understands the way I think...we probably could have finished each others' sentences. It's just crazy that this is a guy that I grew up with, and right now, looks to be the best chance I've had at any kind of success.

Sorry if this sounds stupid (I've had a few beers), but I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Yeah, hope all goes well. I kinda feel that we will all have a great year in 2011.

I also have contacted a few friends I had back in the late 60's and early 70's on Facebook and Classmates.com. Your contacting somebody from that far back who is also a musician with similar interests is freaky amazing. I hope it works out well for you. Most everybody I have contacted is not a musician with the exception of one guy who just gets together with a few people and jams for fun. I'm the only one who has performed professionally.

No one I've known for that long wants to know me anymore...

How DOES one get in touch with lost ppl on FB?

Search them by their names. That's all I know to do.

I just called that gibson312 guy from the USA forum, & I'm s'posed to be possibly meeting him tomorrow. Hope it pans out.

You can also look through your friends' friends for old friends. say that 3 times fast! lol. You can also Type in a letter or a first name and facebook will suggest people you may know from all of your friends' lists. It pretty cool actually. It will say the name of someone who is not a friend and under their name it will say 15 mutual friends. It can remind you of someone you would actually like to friend.

Thanks everyone! We had our first jam session tonight and it worked out really well...we went through a huge variety of songs. I feel good about it.

I am all antsy & stuff, I guess, cuz I was up 1/2 the night...or was it cuzza that damned blind cat wantin' in...then out...then in again...then...AAAAARGH!

Anyway, I'm s'posed to get a call this morning, so we'll see how it goes.

I waited until after noon, but got no call, so I called him again. He said something about forgetting & leaving my number at home & he had to work & would I be interested in trying again later in the day & such. I patiently said, "Sure, okay."

So here it is, almost 6 PM, & still no call.

Eh, it happens. I'm just glad I had nothing to do but wait today...& work on my chainsaw so I could cut wood...& play with Jace...& make meals...& watch some TV...

At least I got SOME of it done!
