I know I'm probably not the only one here who had long hair. I would grow it back, but it would take five years to get it like it was.

Anyway, when did you cut your locks off, and why? At what age did you start growing it out?

Had long ish hair when I graduated from high school. Coaches like to bitch about it hanging out of my football helmet.
Our defensive coordinator called me RAT, short for "wet rat" which is what he said I looked like when I pulled my helmet off.
Grew longer after that. Cut it again for my wedding to Jeanette. Worst hair cut I've ever had in my life in those pictures :( More accurately I cut it for the MOBIL OIL CORP gas processing job I was to begin two days after we married. I grew it back while at the gas plant in west Texas, but it was so curly I could let it dry on it's own and no one would know how long it was unless I blew it dry.
The next time I cut it off was after my Sifu caught me by it and choked my ass out in a class. It was inadvertent ( the hair grab ) as he was reaching for my jacket collar but I could not do the escapes I'd been taught without pulling out all my hair. The next day cut short. I've grown it out a couple of times since then, but always laughed at those dudes with the long hair and bald on top, so it never stayed that way for long. Once while performing an intricate traditional Kung Fu form the ponytail struck me in the eye. Been buzzzed ever since.

I had long hair from age 16 to age 21. It was down to the middle of my back. At the time everyone was getting a perm and looking like Robert Plant. My gf hated it and said either the hair goes or she would. I have had it shorter ever since, but I still have a nice thick mop.

I had the longest hair in my high school, which was a long time ago. Back then it was a real badge of honor and rebellion.
There was this beautiful girl that sat behind me in my first class who'd braid it every morning, (she was hot) and the teacher in my next class would make me take out the braid every day.

Back then hair was a signal of who you were dealing with...

I had let mine grow for 5 years, until I cut it last year...just needed a change. Now, I look at pictures of myself with it, and can't wait for it to grow back... :(

I keep an immaculate moptop. Longer than a lot, but still fairly short.

My hair is all the way down to the middle of my back and is very curly. when it is wet it goes all the way to my belt. My wife braids it every morning. I ask her if she is tired of doing that and she always says no.

Oh did I mention that it's a MULLET! BUISINESS in the front and PARTY in the BACK Baby LMAO!

I just finished watching Cheech & Chongs Next Movie! I am a child of the 60's AND 70's so I will allways be a LONG HAIRED HIPPIE (at heart) TILL THE DAY I DIE! 8)

I used to have really long hair when I was 18-25 years old and a full beard as well. I looked like Jesus, I've got dark blues eyes. (Ironically most likely Jesus had brown eyes and decidedly Arab features based on a study of the shroud of Turin). I haven't had a full beard in many years but I have never fully shaven my mustache since I started growing it about age 7!

Mine was maybe a couple of inches ... eh.... bigger (not longer) than this.

I try to grow it out every couple of years. I end up shaving it. I do like change though. Shaving it and letting it grow until I can't stand it is a consistent repeating theme. The beard comes and goes too. Hey it's fun!
