need to get some bass practice in, but there's storms everywhere... I don't trust my dorm's power supply. I hate practicing bass unplugged...

I'd love to. Do they give them away free? That's what I can afford right now :P

You can maybe pick up a used Bassman (Fender) at a pawn shop. Handy when you need to be quiet or avoid a lightning strike 8)

I do need a power conditioner here anyway... I can tell when someone turns on their TV by the noises my amp makes.

SKB pedal board has built-in power conditioner. Might be cheaper than getting a rackmount one.

Good idea, but not for lightning. Sure, they'll protect your equipment, but the conditioner will still blow up on ya, costing you replacement of it anyway.

Better financially to just unplug until the storm passes.

That's the whole idea, blow up the power conditioner, and not blow up thousands of dollars in equipment.

This Christmas, ask Santa (your relatives and rich friends) for a Furman.

Practice on your acoustic guitar. I've done it for years, when plugging in my bass wasn't an option. Even if you're playing a 5 (or 6) string bass, practicing with this method is better than no practice at all.
