hey Sean, nice finger work.

I do notice however that you're picking up what I would consider, a bad habit that you might want to work on nipping before it becomes integral to your playing - after each noodle or lick, you swipe your fretting down to the nut and back to the next position like you're listening to find where the note you want to play next is located at.

That's fine if you get lost every now and again, but when you have to rely on it, it begins to stand out as a habit, like you're continually trying to find yourself.

I'd pay more attention to what key you're in so you know where your notes are and rely less on finding the note by swiping the strings for that landing note. Just my 2 cents based on what stands out to me. Nice finger work tho.

I would rather just hear a cool riff.

Unless that cool riff is in the vein of VH, you are out of luck if you are waiting on Sean.

GROW YOUR OWN ORIGINAL STYLE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PLAY COVERS>.

I only play and write like EVH and SRV, because thats the music I like.

Well, it's not going so well.

You have to have something original down deep in your bones, most all of us do.

You aren't going to go down as a EVH clone or even a SRV clone.
My advice to you is to try to find a sound you like, but still neither of these 2.

Then make something that even you don't know.

Close your eyes and focus on what radio station your mind listens to.

Hear the melody? How about the bass line?

Now layer them/record them and try to finish what you started.

With any luck, you should be good to go.

No problem, Fred Flintstoned.

Maybe you'll even pump out something original even though it goes against your grain.
