I took a first try at the 2 solos up until the harmony parts (haven't figured them out yet) Both solos were through a Fender Champ, first part with a Les Paul, second part with a Fender Esquire.

Sounds good DJax the feel of the tune and the sound its there.
I've listened to the backing track again by itself what I don't hear is the acoustic guitar arpeggio played by Glen F. in the original a major component of that song IMO.
I know you got the track off the net.
Good luck with the rest of the project.

You are right on the money so far with that solo Dajax with tone and chops!

Thanks JH...Now that I've listened to it a few times, I really wish I had of waited till I learned the harmony parts, because we all know how frustrating things can be when they stop just before they peak!

One of these days I'm going to send you a completed original track that just needs a solo and let you sear you mark into it.

Recording...Small Vs. Big Amps

It's a funny thing I'm running into lately that none of my larger amps record as "big" as my Fender Champ. Now that amp ain't so hot if you're going for a super clean sound, but anything from a bit of grit to all out fuzz fest, the Champ is THE machine to use. I think maybe the fact that I have a Celestion G8S-50 in that amp helps the bottom end from flabbing out when recording. What size of amp have y'all had good results with for getting the tone onto the tape?
