Something to consider.
Make home grown videos that are of decent quality, and post them to facebook.
This wasn't done by any 'pro' video production place.

This is one reason I want to construct a sound and light stage in our rehearsal area.
Promote thyself.

Yeah, if you do a good job at a basic video and people like it on facebook or youtube, it will spread like wildfire. especially on youtube.
Probably get more out of that than any other form of promotion.
I did some quick cipherin and reckon it would cost about $2000 for the camera (or cameras) and the software to do all the fancy stuff with.
Sounds like a lot, and it is, but thats a one time investment unless something breaks.
You can shoot multiple videos for that money vs. who knows how much per video hiring someone to do it.
For P.C. users, I think all you would need is one (or maybe two) decent digital camcorders, and software like Adobe Premier and Adobe After Effects.
(There may be alternatives to Adobe for P.C., I dunno)
Then it's just putting the creative work in and learning to use the stuff.
Just like learning to record your own music with computers.
