Music for HOPE is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission to “Bring Hope to the future through music.” We are a national program that currently operate local chapters in Charlottesville, Virginia and Las Vegas, Nevada. Our website is http://www.musicforhope.org and we are on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/musicforhope.org

What We Do

Instrument Recycling – One more way to “Go Green”
Instruments are expensive! We collect new or used musical instruments from the community, refurbish them as needed and distribute them to struggling school music programs or directly to youth who would otherwise not have access to instruments or music programs.

Why Instruments? – Music is Powerful!

Involvement with music from an early age positively impacts youth with lasting social, academic, and confidence boosting effects. Research consistently shows that playing music can significantly improve a child's learning, memory, and social abilities.

Greater society also benefits from creating more music opportunities for at-risk youth. A California study concluded that “implementing strong arts programs for 'at-risk' youth 4th through 12th graders, the state can recover one and a half times its investment through savings to the criminal justice system and increased tax revenue.” Even on a smaller scale, spreading access to music is win-win!

ALL children should have access to such a powerful activity!

How you can help

Donate an Instrument – We are always in search of instruments to meet the high demand.

Help fund current and future programs – Monetary donations are also more than welcome, and can help provide for instrument parts, instrument care kits, and when needed, new instruments.

All Donations are tax deductible
