Hi All,

I posted up three new songs last night. "River", "Yesterday", and "Wrong".
We had our good friend Richard Gress put some lead guitar on these three. Take a listen if you can and let me know what you think.

To my ears:

The verse on Wrong sounds empty, maybe your bass player needs to walk the bass more and play into every bar. He does this during the chorus, but something needs to keep the drive going during the verse, drummer could try some turnarounds or triplets. Get your bass player to study (not copy) what Mel Schacher of Grand Funk Railroad did for fill-ins. It might spark an idea.

Hey Scratchy,

Thanks for the feedback! I'm the drummer and I did leave this one kind of bare. Sometimes less is more, then again maybe the song needs a little more!

I agree with Scratch about the bass on Wrong. It's very garage band sounding.

River has some redeeming qualities, though I'm not at all crazy about the lyric.

Yesterday seems like it was written for more than a 3 piece.

Hi philbymon,

Thanks for the listen. I appreciate the feedback. What sets you against the lyric on River? Just curious. From the comments it sounds like we have a little work to do on Wrong. As for Yesterday and all of the others, we would like some more instruments and are looking for the right players...it just takes time.

I dunno. Just hit my ear in a hackneyed way. It's prolly just me. I feel the same way about Bon Jovi's stuff.
