Mary, healthcare,,,

Mary I saw your post on FB. I'm not going to turn this into a political post.

This is the stuff that will hurt everyone. Craig and I took much heat for any warnings we posted.

The bottom line is that some one has to pay for it. This was not about healthcare REFORM,,,, this was about taking more money away from every hard working person and control from one central source.

2012,,, EPA, outlaws incandescent light bulbs, and control of appliances you will be ALLOWED to purchase.

The FDA just took General Mills to court over their heart healthy commercials concerning CHEERIOS,, Why?,,,, Because they were not APPROVED.

Next... OUR government is going to tell us what music is allowed,,,, Remember R&R can cause ear damage.

I just feel personal FREEDOM and total tolerance are VITAL to stop our country from Spiraling out of control.

You are a good person Mary,,, sorry for using you for my Rant... let this thread go.

Oh, I understand your rant...I find nothing at all wrong with what you are saying. I have posted so much stuff on my facebook that I am not really sure what it is that you are referring to but I get hot and bothered that health reform is SO political that health is actually put on the back burner. Are we friends on FB? Who are you?

The time for incandescent bulbs has passed, Glen. Let them go...

Unfortunately, we do need to pull together as one on many issues, &, unfortunately, the only way to do it seems to be through law. There will always be those who over-exercise their freedom of choice at the cost of others, & this sort of thing prevents that.

During WWII, families had to make do with food & gas rationing, Glen, through fed law. The gov't does occasionally have to step in to force progress. Our energy problems are fast reaching serious proportions, & steps must be taken to assure energy for all, else it will be something only the rich can have. The lifestyles that have been pushed on us make us all rather dependent upon our gov't to keep energy reserves available for us all.

I'm looking for candescent bulbs.

It's true that healthcare has to be paid for, but this country doesn't have the money.
If we cut every (truly) unnecessary government program, we have a chinese credit card that can never be repaid.
I suppose we could just say, sorry China, we're not paying you back.

P.S.
Glen, for the love of pete, stop using ,,, as an ellipsis.
Correct ellipsis --- > ...
Not ..
Not ..........
At the end of a sentence you sill need end punctuation, so if your sentence ends in a period it would be ....

I wonder... will we ever get out of debt?
He sat there and stared....

Philby my friend,

"Unfortunately, we do need to pull together as one on many issues, &, unfortunately, the only way to do it seems to be through law. There will always be those who over-exercise their freedom of choice at the cost of others, & this sort of thing prevents that."

I would have more trust and faith in someone such as you, to do the right thing. We don't need more laws and big government. We need personal responsibility. Unfortunately the evil people are not you and me, but the people that want to take control of our lives anyway possible.
I would trust you to manage a 13 + trillion deficit more than I would trust our government to tell me a 50 cent light bulb is so bad it is ruining our country.

Sans, The amount of energy required to produce those bulbs far offsets any green payback. The problem is energy, China is building and putting online one DIRTY coal plant a week. We are stopping drilling in the gulf and then paying MEXICO to finance drilling 20 feet over in the same spot, and BRAZIL to drill wells 10 times as deep. This is your tax dollars .

GTZIP,,,,,, forgive me,,,,, thanx for the english lesson,,,,,, I'm just an old songwriter that loves to push that button. ,,,,,,,,,,, Your right,,,,,,this is just my pause to refresh. DO you really think we should just cut up our China credit card? :)

In the meantime, how do we improve our health...not medical care but actual health care. Medicine should help improve our health not make us dependant on medicine. There is a pill, injection, surgery booger for every ailment under the sun...especially if it brings a degree of profit. And yes, indeed we should pull together on this...it means our lives, our family's lives. Here is an example of what I mean: I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes last November. So I go to the diabetes classes like I s'posed ( which I knew what is taught but I went anyway :? ). I'll be honest with you, if I did what the diabetes classes taught me to do, diet-wise, I would be pretty darned close to being diabetic right now. I sat in class keeping my mouth shut... I knew my diet was exemplary and that it would be the last to blame in my diagnosis. So, I did further research on my own and suspected a magnesium deficiency. I began taking magnesium and my blood glucose is well within the normal range now. Call me naive, but if a malady exists due to poor diet or a lack of nutrients shouldn't that be the first line of defense? In my honest opinion it should be. :? So I feel that regardless of what health initiative is taken I will not be satisfied with it. THis is why I posted that on my FB page. Health care is not about health.

A light bulb is useless in any form if you don't plug the dang thing in.

Light bulbs make pretty neat projectiles.

The chinese say that the root of all illness is an imbalance in the body, or the bodys energy.
Sounts like vitamins, nutrients, and avoiding things that are toxic to the system to me.

George?

Good for you Mary. You got SASS! Personal responsibility goes a long way. Glad you are feeling better. Maybe you should pass this on to Haley.

I am a funny duck,,,,,,,, [sorry Gtzip],,, I don't mind paying for something of value, a good dinner, a good show, a good product. But when you start to hand me a bunch of krap, [SIC on purpose] I will call you out.

That's what you did Mary, and God bless you for protecting yourself against poor information.

The light bulb argument doesn't hold water, a 13 watt energy saving bulb gives you 60 watts of energy, and since the general public can't seem to get their sh*t together as far a saving energy this is precisely the type of action the government should be taking. If we don't do something about our energy consumption we could be the generation witnessing the beginning of the end of humanity as we know it. And that's a fact.
The government is a collective that does what individuals can't do on their own. Do they make mistakes...absolutely, especially with the amount of corruption going on, but I would rather see a society refereed by a governing body to the anarchy suggested by many of "deregulation" conservatives. Take away the regulation and the little guy suffers, because the powers that be have already shown that they don't care about human suffering.
