It was a while back, about all the trials and tribulations . . . all the reasons a particular girl wouldn't work out . . .
- abilty, and having the ear
- creativity
- style of music
- distance
- time available
- transportation
- etc., etc., etc. . . .
.
I'd been looking for a couple years . . .
Anyway - I just posted the first recording of the newest member of the 'Alan Bradley Group' singing lead.
Melissa Spencer takes the spotlight in "Descending Boogie."

Believe it or not, my drummer has found not one or two, but THREE beautiful voices for a similar project, Alan.

She has a wonderful voice for your stuff. Clear as a bell. Wonderful enunciation. Great control. Congratulations!

Thankyew, thankyew.
:)
The clincher for me was that - like me - she also only wants to do original music.
AND - I don't need to teach her.
.
It's really nice to be able to talk about the emotions in music, and weaving harmonies, and other stuff like that - without ever having to explain what I mean or how to do it.
.
Some people you have to tell them what you mean - other people you can just tell them.
Some people 'get it,' others do not.
.
If I ask her to 'sing with a smile' - she get's it, and it sounds happier. If I say - 'when you sing this song, think that you're just fed-up with the guy - but it's no big deal," that's all I have to say. One can hear the difference.
.
She get's it, and gives the song the needed character change.
.

I've also recorded a Blues I wrote with her.
.
On the near future, I'm planning on recording a pop song, and a couple rock songs with her, maybe a folk song or two.
.
I've gotta write some lyrics for 2 Funk songs I wrote, then those are next . . .
