OK, perhaps it was spontaneous combustion.
We had these lyrics from Steve-o we'd been playing with on different melodies and really could not get the match to light.

So last night during a break Ray started doing the little riff on his guitar, just messing around. then Steve drops a big drum beat ( and his stick ) then does it again as I and Eric throw out our two cents.

As we're jamming along Ray pulls out the lyrics and goes to wailing. LOL
When we're done and finished laughing about it we decided heck why not see if we could recreate the sound.

Last song on the profile, very rough first draft recording.
More or less just an idea floating.

I think she has great potential.

Man that was impressive! for a first take and just comming up with it on the fly. IMO it has a CCR feeling, for me thats not a bad thing.

Thanks for the listen Monson.

That's why I love these guys. A lot of our songs were created this way, but it's been a while and really felt GOOD last night.

Yeah, CCR ... or perhaps ... as I listened to it for the first time this morning it put me in mind of the GFR live album I had back in the day.

Lot of clean up to do, obviously.
But I think she's going to rock!

Not bad George! some times when collaborating on songs this is when you can come up with your best songs! I would finish the writing process of this as soon as possible while the energy is there. It has a lot of potential! :D

Thanks for the input J.

We are back into the habit of recording our rehearsal sessions.
Ray and I both have files on the "origin" ( lots of talking and laughing ) and this "first take".
In the process of committing it to paper and adding some lyrical content we came up with after the fact last night.
Should be able to record a final draft next week.
It is simple enough, heck we may even take it to studio on 10/12.
Who knows ??

Yeah! I love it. The flanger really makes the song take off. Sounds like Classic Rock. Can't wait to hear it when it's all sorted out.

Hot intro, sans! Good throwback song. I can see the GFR influence. You should return to the intro before the break, imho, then just let the bottom drop out in the bridge.

WHOA !

Great input! I like it!

On the original wanking there was no flange on Rays guitar. I actually thought it sounded better without, and told Ray as much.

Now Krul has me rethinking?

Phil, return to intro before the break eh ? Humm ?

Intend to use the bridge as a kind of " message board " with spoken content.
Done live may go something like ... Thanks for inviting us out we've had a blast. Playing for you people has been a blessing to us hope it has for you as well ETC ETC

Bottom drop out ? So just let the drummer carry ? Drummer / Bass ?
Drummer bass single strums on the rhythm ??

Oh man, head rush ... LOL

Lot to think about.

Thanks

Good stuff, man! Yeah, I definitely hear the classic rock...I was thinking GFR myself, maybe CCR and even a touch of Deep Purple. Sounds good so far and I'm anxious to see where it goes. :D

I dig it! For some reason the first minute o the song reminded me of the Screaming Trees.
Recommendations would be changing the drum beat to something a little fuller * possibly a beat working with a simple but expressive 2nd guitar part.
Cool tune that has a lot of possibilities and could be really lush.

I swear for me, 5 out of 10 o my better songs come to me on the fly!

I'm craaazy
I am not
yes you are *(;>)-~
