I'm new to the site, but not new to the music business.....

I'm not sure what was the original intention of starting a site like this, but it is a great idea: "Connecting Musicians". It's is unfortunate that you cannot connect unless you pay for a premier membership. A large majority of musicians do not make a good living at it initially. Anyways, if anyone does look into my profile, I can be reached at Lopz2001@netscape.net. From my experience: this site adheres to the morals of the Mu$ic Bu$$ne$$; exploit the talent.

I really don't see how anyone on this forum is being exploited.
If anything I'm exploiting them. I use their platform for free for my entertainment, and if I choose to pay them for their premium services I'd have to find them worth what I'd pay for them, Otherwise I wouldn't give them my money.

I'm just impressed that they have a forum of this quality with forumites of this caliber.....

I'm sorry but I am having a blast. We as musicians need to find inovative
ways to that is what Band Mix is doing for themselves. I compare that to my private studio for flute lessons. I'm sure people believe that I should give that service for free. I can't speak for everyone here, but I can speak for myself. I have not been ripped off at all. Actually, I am a better musician thru the help of banmix.

It's funny how many people in such a short period of time have complained about a measly $9.99 not doing the work for them. Hey man, you gotta put in your own effort.

At least on BM, the money is good for a month...at Jack in the Crack, it's all consumed in one sitting...and usually for more than a 10 spot.

It's cheap...but not free if you want messages. It's all about what you put into it which I'm about to do now that I got my sh*t together.

You actually get to know people on this site. That is worth more then a lousy 10 spot. Since you want Bandmix to do all your legwork why not pay the ten? Get a booking agent and put him to work for you.

See how cheap that is.

Evidently the spirit of Jack Benny is alive and well at Bandmix. :D

Too true Slacker, the people alone are worth it. Problem is, the people who come on here whining never even take the time to check the community out.

We should do a commercial saying: Bandmix monthly membership payments are $10 every month. That's $10 dollars less than a $20 sack of weed!

It'd be better if it was; Bandmix monthly membership payments are $10 every month, 20$ every month if you complain about it!

"Did I hear you say that there must be a catch?
Will you walk away from a fool and his money?"

I already know the benefits of joining this site. Y'all did a horrible job at trying to convince me to dish out any money. It sounded more like you were trying to convince yourselves. I'm a member, and contribute to various forums on the internet and I connect with the members on those forums via IM or email.....free! I still DO think "Band Mix" is a good idea, and a good site.

It's simple as this Scratchy, you want to search for local musicians, for $10 you can e-mail them. I'm skeptical as you are, musicians connection, which is another great place to get musicians, costs money too per ad you put up, however, these are mostly pro players. Music Connection which is free and you can wade through all the people who like to pretend they're on break from the Mariah Carey World Tour or who simply just want to brag about their pro status.

It's up to you. I paid for the quarter and if I don't find anyone, I'm going back to Musician's Connection, pay a fee for an ad because that's where I've found the best success and the nicest people.

Still, this forum's a great place. It's a shame people I've connected with here are so far away from me.

Look dude, if you don't want to pay, don't pay. That's your choice. I write my costs off anyway because I have a studio, so there!
