Does anyone here like or appreciate other music besides rock?
Lately I've heard more interesting parts and stuff in Pop and those Pop/Rap collabs than I have in the rock n roll world.

You need to ask?
I like some prog, some r & r, some blues, some country, some pop, some classical, some new wave, some jazz...

Well you've shown that you are pretty open minded but it doesn't necessarily mean that you likey.

Man I love old jazz (And new), I've relly been getting into electronica ala the band 0 Seven. At times I really enjoy classical...
I can even tolerate some rap songs although I really dislike the format.
But there are great performances in almost every genre...

I like just about ANY music, played well. That said, I wouldn't necessarily buy some stuff, even though, when I hear it I like it. So how do we define "liking" other music? That when we hear it, we recognize it's value? Or does it only count, if we are willing to purchase the album? I like old Irish tunes for example, but I have never bought a CD of it. When someone puts on country radio, I find myself liking some of it, but I don't go out looking for the album later.
Maybe it's like my step-kids and certain foods. I ask them whether they like something new they have tried, and they say "Yes." but then I ask them whether they would ask someone to make it for them again, and they may so "No." in which case, I tell them, that they don't really "like" it, they merely TOLERATE it.
So, what defines whether we "really" like something, as opposed to just respecting it's value?

Listen to it more than once.
Or in my case, since I'm a bit obsessive, listen to it 20 times in a row or something ridiculous like that.

So, kind of like my vegetable thing with the kids!
In that case, yes, there are MANY different genres I like, and get into, and would listen to again and again!

I like most music. I listen to classical, opera, techno, rave, dance, pop, ambient, ethereal, world, new age, and country. So I'll pretty much listen to anything if it's done well.

Music is music. There are many pieces or songs that I do not like...but as for styles...Can't think of any style or genre that I do not like. Plus, I have played various genres. I get the same kind of rush from any music.

Any good music is what it is. All bad music is simply bad.

I do not know what good music is, but I know bad music when I hear it.
I listen to classical at work, jazz when I want to chill, and rock when I want to - rock.
My test of whether I really like something is if I seek it out and I'm willing to spend my money to own it.
