Just got an email today offering a new profile search and the option of putting up 25 songs total. I think Facebook has some competition. My team MySpace will win!

I hate Facebook and I don't see the allure. I have an account and it's great for hooking up with people, but for musicians it sucks. Myspace is far more musician friendly. I'm glad I kept my account.

We have a Myspace account that I've not visited in months.
FaceBook works good for updating local friends and family of the bands goings on.
We generally only promote our own website when we gig.
Easy to remember.

You have to know HTML to make it work. You can get free backgrounds from Pimpmyprofile.com and you paste the code in your Bio.

It's just all about pasting codes. They may have some tutorials on You Tube.

And allow me to say, Facebook sucks again. I'm creating an artist page for myself on there and thanks jackasses for being so forthcoming on how to add a music player. I go to the help page and it's hundreds of people begging for help, not offering any. Then their lazy asses sit there and wait for more technical people to provide help, not any of their people.

Facebook is good to invite people to gigs, it gets more in your face than Myspace. I find both of them necessary.

I'm going to check out Reverbnation, it's also growing.

Facebook is of the DEVIL......

It's a giant black hole that sucks time and puts you in touch with people you were glad you hadn't seen in a while....

But that's just my opinion...... 8)

Myspace started dying when pages started taking 5 minutes to load, with a broadband connection.

I've connected with people I've not seen in 30 years.
And glad to have done so.
FaceBook is what it is, you don't pull screws with a hammer.

Yes, and after befriending them you then realize that I you weren't missing much.

AH, not quite my lady.

Lost contact with some people I dearly love, mostly due to my own selfishness.
We grow, we change, we move and raise family .
Yet we still love, miss and wonder in the calm of the eve.
And to see their faces now, hear there voices, and understand how so nearly their own lives parallel our own.
Brings a spot of humanity back into my life.

Sure, it's not all prancing pixie ponies.

But it only takes one light in the darkness.

Any site that gives you or your band exposure is good!
But Reverbnation charges for everything they do for you... starving artists need not apply!
