Our show Friday night

Friday, August 27, 2010 - The Farleys with The Adrays and Seazure at Simon's After Dark. I guy whose name I didn't catch opened the show doing a solo acoustic guitar thing, it was OK. We went on next; the place was pretty much full with our fans, the other bands brought only a few people. This was our new drummer Mike's first gig with us he did very well! We opened the show with "I Turned Into A Martian" by The Misfits and then tore through all of our originals, finishing with The Stooge's "TV Eye". The sound was very good Friday, with the vocals up front like they should be and a nice monitor mix that allowed us to have a lower stage volume. Afterwards we mingled with the crowd; I don't ever recall getting that many compliments. The Adrays came on next; decent garage-punk rock but without many fans their performance fell flat. Seazure closed it out; I don't like to harsh bands that I gig with so let's just say that everyone pretty much left. We had a decent draw at the door and the owners love us, saying we could play there whenever we want. It's good to have a "home base" place that you can always count on for a gig. Great night!

I wish you had recorded it.

Then again, I end up saying that often myself.

It's like "when you know it's being recorded, that when you wish it wasn't". lol

But I would have liked to heard it anyway.

Good job, man.

Thanks guys, there will be plenty of better opportunities to record a live show. We prefer to record live at The Old Miami; they have a pretty decent recording system if you get the mics placed correctly. We'll also get some new video soon; this show was new drummer Mike's fourth time playing with us so he didn't need any extra pressure. I can't wait to see how he'll be in six months!

Cool beans Jimmy.

It is indeed nice to have a place where you feel at home and can gig pretty much at will.
When someone tells you of all the bands that play a place your their favorite it is quite the ego boost, and encourages a strong performance.
