Have there been any bands or musicians form your home town or adopted home town who have 'made it'?

This is mostly a question for the people not from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Dallas, Detroit, or New York.

From my bilogical home town, Boise - we can lay claim to 'Paul Revere and the Raiders', 'Built to Spill', and 'Curtis Stigers'.

From my adopted home town (metro area included) - we can lay claim to 'Big Head Todd and the Monsters' and 'The Fray'.

Those are ones that I know of at least.

Wayne Newton was born here.

Don't tell my mom I play guitar in a rock band.

She thinks I play piano in a whore house.

Bobby Castleman, aka R L Cass, got a Grammy, for a song he wrote for Alison Craus...he's a local boy done good.

Alan Jackson & (maybe) Keith Urban have used his songs, too.

Addendum: That's what I was told by the locals down at CNN (that's the Country News Network, at the local grocery)
