...the indigo girls playing their acoustic guitars on their front stoop.

(grits teeth)

(radio squawk) Bravo team hold the perimeter, snipers you have the green light.. lol

BOOM!!!

These 2 women may be the biggest reason why I want to smash every acoustic guitar I ever see or have seen before..

ps: "Closer to Fine" still sucks and I swear I think the one woman had a curly hair on her lapel. We should send that out to the lab to determine whether or not that head is from her head or.. not.. lol

Yeah, I thought you were ok Bob. lol

I mention more than a few like PARAMORE, THE DONNAS, MRS BENETAR etc. There are just less of them than the counterparts, IMO.

Do I have to go through the whole list?>

I didn't say I didn't like all of them, just the vast majority.

And most of all the indigo girls, mellisa etheridge and susie and the Banshees, does that rumple your panties? tough sh*t, take a number...

If'n ya don't like what I have to say, too fing bad. Don't read it. I don't care at all. I read the rest of the horseshit you write and don't even utter a syllable.

As for killing them? I think you n33d to quit PUI and seek therapy.

The minute you want to tell me what I can like and dislike is the moment I think about placing my big ass foot directly up your fat moronic ass.

Hey Captain, post something good to say about some women musicians once in a while. I don't recall you giving any women some positive comments. In some respects I actually agree with you. I'm not very impressed by too many female musicians. The problem is that too many hot women who are marginally talented get all kinds of publicity (Taylor Swift, Brittney Spears, etc.) and those women who are not good looking don't get any attention. A few years ago I was watching the Dave Letterman show and the musical guest was Emmy Lou Harris (who I'm not crazy about). Singing behind her was a couple of women, one of whom sounded familiar. Turned out it was Linda Ronstadt who was extremely overweight. Ronstadt should be the one fronting the band and Emmy Lou Harris should be the backing vocalist. We have a local young phenom blues singer who's drop dead gorgeous who's getting all the best blues gigs in town and the women here who can kick her butt vocally don't get anywhere near the attention (or gigs). Sexism is alive and well in the music world unfortunately...

Bob, I just prefer a male voice.

GZIP, yeah been ultra hostile of late due to "outside factors". Sorry to bathe you in gore.

I hope that doesn't make me sexist but if it does, ok.

I like PARAMORE and a few others female fronted bands. I just don't rave about them because I don't feel it.

Should I smash my head against the wall until I do? Nahhh, so many other things to worry about.

In some genrres there's been precious few really great female singers, rock and blues to name a few. For some reason there's a multitude of good country female singers. One thing I really don't understand is there has NEVER been a female rock or blues guitar hero. NOT ONE. Is playing guitar that difficult that a woman has never risen to God status on guitar? (Maybe there is a difference between men and women). What I really detest is elevating a female to superstar musical status when she is a mediocre musician at best. Lady GaGa is a perfect example. Do people really critically LISTEN to her sing? If you never saw her but only HEARD her would you rush out and buy her CD? Are people going to be LSTENING to her music thirty years from now? Is her material going to be played on an oldies radio station thirty years from now? Is she a cultural icon? Yes? Is she a singer? NO.

I'd blankly state that some genre's accept the female voice more than others.

C+W will host anything including singing animals. (imo)

Opera seems to be refuge for women, excuse me Mr. Pavarotti et al.

Nancy Wilson of Heart and Joni Mitchell come to mind. Leona Boyd is also great but she's more classical. There's a LOT of great female guitarists out there, however it's a testosterone dominated field because that's what the public expects. Besides, Les Pauls are freaking heavy!

There are also a ton of great female bassists; the last three times I saw Jeff Beck he had a different female bassist. The last time I saw Bowie he had a female bass player, as did Dweezil Zappa. And as you know mastering the bass is no easier than mastering the guitar.

Jimmydanger, I wouldn't know about mastering the bass, I haven't done it yet.

The woman that plays bass from the Smashing Pumpkins and the female bass player from A Perfect Circle are also both exceptionally talented musicians.
