Geeze.
I tried to upload a song to my profile this morning. It took about 20 minutes to load. Then when I went to check the new upload, it wasn't there.

I could hear the gerble on the power wheel grinding away as my hard drive tried to comply with Band mixes wishes, but no cigar. My Radio Shack Tandy computer has a 2 meg hard drive and 32 bits of memory with the latest CPU + the latest black and white monitor, so what's the big deal? A friend told me to update my system. Hell, I'm just mastering DOS. Why change now?

So I cleared everything, shut down my computer and started from scratch again. This time it finally loaded... after about 15 minutes. Seems like a big deal for nothing. I only posted it because the two instrumental breaks are played almost exclusively with double stops. I thought the pickers on here might like that sort of thing.

Now I can quit uploading stuff. I used my quota on my El-cheapo account. Good part is that I don't have to upgrade systems again

That's awesome. I really enjoyed that man. Inspired now to play around with the solo licks in ALL THAT REALLY MATTERS in a finger picking style.

Be a sad day in BandMix land when your musical selection here goes dormant of change.[/u]

Thanks Sans & Glen.

I started with picks but went to finger style simply because the picks I wanted cost too damned much. Here is a link to them.

I want to hear the song you are considering finger pickin, Sans. As soon as I get a sound card for this thing. I gave my only card away to a friend who needed it for his DAW a couple of weeks ago. Then I found that the new MB on board sound card didn't have drivers for my OS.
I guess I'll have to go to the computer shop Monday and try to get another one.

Capt,

They make 486's now? I guess it is time to let my 8086 go? I guess that means new mem too, along with all that other stuff. Maybe I'll even pop for one of those newer 20 meg hard drives while I'm at it.

I can't believe how fast this thing got outdated. :D

Thanks again Sans & Glen.

Those are some of the nicest comments I have had about my pickin.

Last night a killer storm came through here. A real gully washer with winds up to 70mph +. It tore the top off a big walnut tree and landed it in my neighbors yard. So to be a nice guy I went out and borrowed a chain saw and spent a few hours in the rain chopping it up and carrying it out of her yard. I didn't have to, but she was widowed this year so I felt obligated. I also had to cut a tree of her neighbors roof that was hers. The 6 trees on my property were shredded to some degree. All had a lot of big broken branches. I presume the 70mph winds didn't find them very aerodynamic.

I looked at my roof and the wind had ripped a solid 6' 4 leg tower off of it. The only thing that kept it from landing on a Fierro were the antenna cables. So I spent the morning with a saw cutting big branches away from my roof. It shredded trees all over my property, landed a huge tree on a garage up the street and downed power lines all over the city. You can't go a block without seeing a shed or downed trees in the street.

The bummer capping the other bummers is that I broke the pull rope mechanism in the chain saw that someone lent to me. So no TV, a leaky roof, ( a section of the ceiling caved and fell to the floor) a 10' X 5' pile of branches stacked on my parking and a lot of work to do.
I can't even move that heavy tower. It took out a $300.00 ham radio tri bander antenna, my VHF antenna, and my UHF antenna. I chopped them all into pieces. Only one feed line survived to keep it hanging on the roof. So if I can get the roof leaks plugged, and the tower upright, I guess all I need to do is shell out $$$$$$$ for the saw and antennas.

When the winds and rain hit my whole house moved with the wind gusts. I was wondering when the roof would blow off. but it held. It has been in the 90's with high humidity heat index of about 110 for the last 4 days. And another 4-5 days more of that on the way, along with that type of storms being spawned by the heat and humidity.

I guess I don't mind. Other folks have it a lot worse. You can't imagine the size of the tree that landed on the garage up the street. And from what I hear some landed on houses. Now that would really suck.

Could have been worse. Glad your safe. Thanks for what you did for your neighbors. That kind of thinking of others is dearly departed from too much of our society.
