Is it me... bandmix courtesy or lack thereof

Why is it that only 2 of the 20 people I send a message to on this site never respond? Does it really take that much effort to send a reply that says "I'm not interested."?

Just guessing but it probably has something
to do with the content of the message you are
sending.

People here are PROS.

yOUR STUFF SOUNDS GOOD.
kEEP PLUGGING AWAY.
20 out of thousands isn't much.

Insulting questions in a poll isn't helping you.
Do the other people in your band know you did that?

You misrepresent your bandmates with that BS.

Sounds about right. 10% of those who sign up here are actually still active and have common courtesy. To increase responses make sure your profile is complete and send ten times more messages.

If you want to meet musicians - instead of advertising - go to where the musicians hang out.
.
Of all the musicians I talk to, face-to-face: 100% of them respond; made a ton of good friends that way, too.

Yeah...I've had ppl who ANSWERED my ad in craigslist, & when I responded to them, nicely, showing respectful & professional interest, all conversation simply stopped.

Face it - ppl are WEIRD!

But...& I hesitate to say it...there may be something a little off-putting about your nic, too...

People usually do not respond to something they feel irreverent to them. Anyone interested will. Nothing to be taken personally by any means. We all do it.

To the poster in question.
It's just a general thing. Nothing to do with here or anywhere else for that matter. Things are slow all round.

Hope you find what you are looking for.
Best regards.
Chippy.

Klugmo,

Thanks. It actually glows in the dark. My daughter spotted it at Kohls in the mall. She takes me shopping there for my birthday and I get to pick what I want. She brought that one over for me to see & I bought two of them, and about 5 other rather cool "T's" that also glow in the dark.

It must be a Khol thing. They always have a bunch of neat "T's" there every time I go. Some of their belt buckles are really great. Same themes as the "T's" in a lot of cases.

By the way, I just saw my post above. I meant irrelevant to them, not irreverent. The spell checker chose the wrong word and I accidentally hit change without really paying attention.

Yep, That percentage sounds about right. Perhaps even a little high.
Anyone can fire and forget a profile on BandMix. Musician or no.

Nobody said it would be easy.

I would reply but as of yet not a full member. I just wanted to see if I received any responses first. I wanted people to leave their e-mail address or myspace. I am a drummer looking for musicians. Covers and originals. Even now considering doing a Heart or Fleetwood Mac tribute band. If you know anyone interested please send them my way. I am in Schuylkill County Pa.

Pretty damn good post's Chris. When I first joined I tried to contact many , many people. It was pretty discouraging. I ended up saying WTF.

However... This forum is probably the most down to earth forum you will find anywhere.

I think I just found a drummer and a bass and maybe a keyboard player. All from different resources, non from B. M.

But one thing I have found here is a GREAT bunch of talented, strong willed, musicians, that are not afraid to share any personal views. I find this so refreshing. And yes I am a big pain in the butt also.... The best thing about this site is all the people that participate .
