Okay, you have evidently been to this Purple Fiddle place.

What's the room/stage like? Big? Small?

I'm wondering whether to take my Peavey bass amp (I might play some bass) or my lil GK keyboard amp.

I'm told we're using a house system. Is it any good?

I've really only stuck my head in there...I don't believe its a very big place, though. I've never been there during a show.

That probably doesn't help too much.

Still, music IS the focus of the venue (as opposed to being a bar that has live entertainment, if that makes sense), and I know that a lot of good acts play there. So, I would ASSUME (and you know what that makes!) that the house system is pretty good.
