Massive release of classified Afghan war info...

Back in the good old days when the United States took war seriously, people used to get shot for treason. Did you ever hear of the saying "loose lips sink ships?" Believe it or not we are at war. The last time I checked our enemies (AL Qaeda and the Taliban) have not surrendered to us. Anybody who leaks sensitive information should be tried for treason and summarily executed. Many times in WWI and WWII Americans were executed for spying. I am ashamed that we have become friggin weenies when it comes to war. Our brave men and women who are in harms way deserve the very best effort by our government to protect them and that includes protection from our own treasonous citizens. Those people who leaked this info should be held responsible and executed, period. We are AT WAR GODDAMIT!

gonna have to go against ya on this one Bob; the fact is we (and our troops) have been lied to and dragged into so many wars now ie;
Vietnam = Gulf of Tonken
WWI = assassination of Yugoslavian president
WWII = Pearl Harbor
Afghanistan = 911
Iraq = WMD's
If they were allowed to operate in complete secrecy we would never not be in a war and the wars would go on for decades.
The military industrial complex is what keeps the money rollin in to the international banking cartel; NOTHING makes them more money than war, and WE PAY for them all!
If I had my way every dirty assed trick they pull would be exposed.
How many of our brothers and sisters, moms and dads have to die for their nation building and energy controlling?
There is no honor in war, only death misery and profits!

Everyone should be aware of what's going on with our modern military. Do you think our gov would have ever acknowledged this?

War is Hell my friend. In every war there are many needless deaths. How about the thousands of innocent people who have been killed by terrorists? There have been countless people slaughtered by terrorist scum all over the world. There is no justification in killing innocent people for political purposes. The terrorist scum hide behind civilian shields. In a war on terror there is going to be innocent people killed. In WWII there were millions of civilian deaths. It doesn't matter who starts wars, the fact is that during war it is a simple matter of this: I'd rather go to their funerals than they go to mine. It's a simple matter of this: In war you kill people and break things until the other side surrenders or there is no other side. I don't believe humans will ever live in a war-free world. We get into wars for the most stupid reasons. But once we are at war we HAVE TO PROTECT OUR PEOPLE WHO ARE FIGHTING AND IN HARMS WAY, and that means anybody who leaks info and puts our sons and daughters at risk deserve to be EXECUTED so the leaking of info WILL STOP. People (like yourself) who are against the United States are a sad lot indeed. In the good old days many famous people, particularly famous actors, actually volunteered their time and talents to HELP our soldiers. Whatever happened to victory gardens, war bonds, a sense of American pride, PATRIOTISM? We may not be right in every circumstance but I have a feeling we're just a little bit righter than the terrorist scum we are fighting against around the world. It'll be a great day for the world if every terrorist piece of sh*t were to suddenly DROP DEAD. I don't care how long it takes or what it takes, but America is on the right side of history in this brutal war.

We Are always at war and always will be the merchants of death will make sure of that, where there is no war they will make one, where there is no conflict they will create one, where there is no terrorism they will invent them and no election, president, congress of either parties can stop the carnage there is too much money involved.
I was happy to see my son come back in one piece from his tour of duty oversea, he left with pride for serving his country and with a broken relation with his father for not approving of his decision and he came back disappointed because he found out that he was fighting not for his country but for Halliburton, Raytheon, Grumman, Northrop and all the rest of the misery peddlers.
Two ongoing wars and two more waiting in the wings (North Korea and Iran) after that the demagogues will come up with more boogie men to fear many more opportunities for folks to pay lip service to patriotism flag and country there will be no shortage of fresh meat for the grind and more opportunity for blood profit.
Somebody is reporting the truth on the net? I’d say it’s a good thing, the argument that reporting the truth can endanger our troops is no more dangerous than the lies they use to send our sons and daughters to the slaughter.
Sorry Bob your sincere patriotism IMO is misplaced.
"In a world of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act." George Orwell.

Media coverage of war & atrocities has vastly improved, probably starting in Viet Nam. Remember Mi Lie?
Stuff we've done has been covered up as long as we've had the WMD's...bombs, planes, missiles, chemicals, amazing stuff. It just seems that we're always looking for new ways to test it out on living ppl.
I don't see this coverage as dangerous to our troops. I don't see it as anything but what it is - the truth - the truth that WE have been denied for decades. Other countries have been getting this coverage all the while, but here, we haven't. Why? The corporate-owned-gov't seems to think it will sway public opinion the wrong way. It IS the 'wrong way,' if you're going to ruin corp profits by getting us out of the frays, for some ppl.
Yeah, it's patently obvious that a HUGE mistake was made, here. Mistakes are made in war every day. Ppl need to know that as they head into these conflicts, & decide if they are worthy ones, considering the cost of innocent life.
It's pretty obvious that the ONLY reason this was classified was because it put us in a bad light. Cover-ups do no one any good, bob. If this guy had been carrying a weapon instead of a camera, they'd be showing it off to us proudly.
I would be aghast if there were sensitive info being leaked about tactics & whatnot, but this? This is simple truth, bob, & we should be exposed to it. We need to know what our military does, just as we need to know what the rest of our gov't does to the innocents.
Would you have other things covered up, as well? Stuff like when the gov't tested ppl with massive doses of LSD without their knowledge? Dumping chemicals in the water to see what would happen? Should we have covered up the McCarthy era? Howzabout the Gitmo crap?
We welcome news about ppl like Hussein doing these things to THEIR own ppl, & to the nations THEY war with. So why would we want to cover up those things we do?
Is it because we HAVE to believe that 'god is on our side?' I don't think he is, when we do bad things, any more than he is when others do them.
I welcome real news, in nearly all its forms. This is a good thing for America. Covering it up makes us naive little sheep, believing that everything we do is right & just, no matter the cost to others, & nothing could be more wrong than that sort of fascism.
The free press was designed to be a check on the powers that be, bob, & that's exactly what I am seeing, here. It's FINALLY doing its job!

War is about killing the enemy.
The enemy is anyone whom is not killing the enemy.
There are no rules. Kill em all.
I don't care if God sorts em out or not.
Blitzkrieg ... and return to peace.
Or don't go to war at all.
Read THE ART OF WAR by Lao Tzu.
Then you will know.

Either this is a war or it's not. I say we go into Pakistan and destroy the Taliban. The hell with getting permission from Pakistan. We need to get after it and accelerate the SOB so the war might end a little sooner. The release of critical info is part and parcel of a half-assed war effort. All of the terrorists imprisoned in Cuba should have been offed YEARS ago. There shouldn't be any of them there to make any deal about. THe only good terrorist is a dead one. I say accelerate the killing until there's unconditional surrender or there's none left to kill. Any effort less than that ISN'T WAR. Where's Ulysses S. Grant when you need him the most?

Yes yet in order for that strategy to be effective it would have to be applied as Genghis Khan or the OLD TESTAMENT ARMY OF ISRAEL would.
Kill everyone. Women, children, everyone.
The half assed war effort as you call it is designed to prolong indefinitely the expenditure of resources ( money ) to those whom finance both sides.
War does not cost money.
It makes money

Again the problem is politicians. They use war to manipulate the populace for votes to keep themselves in power.
Politicians.....no lower life form in the universe. Generals should fight wars, politicians should fund them for whatever generals say they need to win, and keep their twisted self serving goals out of it.

THIS, I agree with, 100%.
What I strongly DISagree with is the cover-ups when mistakes are made.
I am sick & tired of being lied to by the very ppl I help to put in office every time something they do goes wrong. Own up to it. Fix it if you can, but QUIT LYING TO ME! The truth will eventually come out, even if it's from a foreign news agency.
So...if you are gonna do a war, do it right. If you're playing with guns in Mamby-pamby-land, well, I wanna know about that, too, & all the stupid sh*t that goes along with it.
Grant sucked, by the way. Gimme PATTON! Gimme CAESAR! Gimme ALEXANDER! Hell, gimme LEE!

Blame it on oversight? They are so sharp to be able to determine the real cause of the missing BILLIONS a naïve like me mistakenly thought it was due to fraud.
That will teach me not to jump to conclusions.
