I was an outdoor person from the get-go. My earliest memories of childhood activities include catching insects, frogs, tadpoles, praying mantises, etc. I was catching things before I could walk. My parents had a handful with me. I also was a neighborhood bully before I could walk. My mother told me that one time when she was pushing me in a stroller with another mother they left us on our driveway to go into my house to get us something to drink and when they came out I was beating up the other kid in his stroller! I don't remember that at all but I'm not surprised. That's got to be one of the funniest things I ever did. (Don't know if we ever went for a stroll with them again.)

The first one I had or the one that predominates my time?

My own love list:
Family - your kids have to be number one
Music - writing, recording, preforming, attending concerts I do it all
Science - especially Paleontology and Cosmology
Art - painting and drawing since I was a kid
Writing - I love to write - short stories, poems, lyrics
Cooking - I'm a great cook, and I love baking (I was a baker for four years)
Programming - I love what I do, the best job in the world
Gardening - I have a green thumb wink wink

A well-rounded person has multiple loves.

Other Cars
Visual Arts - painting, drawing, sculpting (used to be much higher on my list.)

God.

The rest falls into place on a rotating scale. I like building motorcycles. I enjoy building guitars. I love designing my own electronics for what ever I need. Doing the design, art work, making the circuit boards and using what I design is really satisfying. I like playing guitar. I like recording. I like watching movies on my big screen. I like building DAW's from the mother boards up. I like a whole bunch of stuff in season.

And next to God, I love the freedom that is being taken from us in the dead of night by the socialist tyrants that crave control and power over everything I love.

LIFE!

Just BEING seems to make it for me more than anything else. The rest is just fluff...although there is a lot of fluff that seems to distract me from life...& a lot that makes it all worthwhile!

What is it with the festivas that make you love them?
P.S. I believe they are bringing that model back.

They brought back the fiesta. The first fiesta for the U.S. market was a German built ford 1.6. 1978-1980. It has some redeeming qualities. Festivas ran from 88-93. They were designed by mazda (they are a mazda 121) They were assembled using all mazda components by kia in korea. The reasonS I love the festiva are many. This is the list NOT in the order of importance to me.
1. It is the clear winner in the TOTAL cost of operation. the #1 factor in that win is durability. I will elaborate. Gas mileage is obvious but is just one factor. They can get 53 mpg. Some claim 60. So - spend $25,000 on a prius and get 53/48 or spend $500 - $1500 on a festiva and get 40/53. Parts are cheap and I can still get them. Insurance and tires are cheap. They are so simple and straight forward it makes an old VW seem complex.

2. They routinely rack up 300,000 miles. I have seen dozens get there with very little maintenance. I have personally seen 8 with over 500,000 miles!! One with over 600,000. Sure some subarus, toyotas, fords, hondas, gms get there BUT they ALL cost more to get there.
because....

3. Non-interference engine. break a timing belt at 200,000 miles, slap on a new yourself in 45 minutes, reset the timing and go another 200,000 miles.

4. Even though they get awesome gas mileage they still are relatively quick. 0-60 for a stock 5 speed festiva is 10 seconds. That's an average honda 0-60 time. Not fast but it feels quick. I cant beat a CRX SI but I can beat a CRX DX HF and all the other CRX's. So it's surprisingly quick.

5. Bang for your buck in the practical department sure, but also in the performance department!!??!! That's right. For very little money you can make them brutal. On youtube you can find festivas with 1.6 turbo and 1.8 NA or turbo smoking WRX STI's at the track. A NEW GTO!?! Yep at the track. Many fox body mustangs, vettes etc have been humiliated by a festiva.

6. I LOVE an underdog. I love it when a little 120 Japanese dude whips up on a 300 lb ripped up black guy in martial arts. It's the less is more thing.

7. Here is the biggest surprise. Interior space!! There are cavernous inside. I have fit the following in my festivas. A lazy boy recliner with the hatch closed! A full size motorcycle. a Scooter. a 580 lb inline 5 cylinder turbo diesel mercedes engine. a Huge stack of 8' 2x4's WITH THE HATCH CLOSED!! The tallest guy on the forum who daily drives a festiva is 6' 10"! I sold one to a friend recently who is 6' 7". He bought it for his 6'5" son. He loves it and asked to buy another the NEXT DAY for him!

My festiva videos....

Festivas whipping...
a GTO ...

an EVO
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oQt7LgT ... re=related
more kills...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCzxy3z5 ... re=related

They kill at autocrosses, 1/4, even road courses.

Then there are these numbers no one can argue with.
$100 festiva not running. plus
$600 escort GT needing a clutch
Lots of time, a little fabrication skills and you have a Durable car that can get 45 mpg AND still go 0-60 in 6 seconds!!! It's like it defies physics!

This one is Jay Leno's festiva....

What I always say is...
Festiva FTW .... again!

Great, where can I get one? (an old one)
You have one that's driveable to sell?

War machines have always fascinated me. Used to build models of aircraft and tanks and such as a kid. The feel of a well made weapon in my hands gives me a pleasure I could not express in words.

Of course my list would be easy as far as major commitments in my life.

God
Jeanette
My family
My extended family ( including my friends I consider as my blood )
My country, or at least what she represents to my mind.
And the warrior spirit.
I could spend my life living outdoors off the land. Make a damn good mountain man me thinks.

My music and my Kung Fu are inseparable.

In that order of importance.
But as far as this poll, I had to click on music, because it is always going on in my head. It's my first love as in this moment. Right here, right now. But, would I give up all of my music for my kids? Yeah, if I had to. (except this that constantly plays in my head. I couldn't shut it off if I wanted to).

I have a few around here. I also have festiva friends nearer to you that may have some for sale. There are maybe 6,000 members on fordfestiva.com. I'll get back to you. :D

Nobody on the boards near you. I found this one 6 hours away from you for $1000. The mileage is good. If the seller is telling the truth it's a good deal. http://lewiston.craigslist.org/search/? ... catAbb=sss

A friend here has one he is almost ready to sell. It needs a couple of things. A seal or two. Not sure what else. Nothing major. I think he will ask $800. It's a 4 speed so not as good mpg as the 5 speed. He is getting 42 mpg. Another friend of mine built it from parts cars. No A.C. not pretty. lol.
