[/b]The other day Glen put up an old song he recorded and
it was really good. I thought I would try it. This was an attempt
at writing, singing and recording Rock for the first time
back in 1996. Let me know what you think.

ENDLESS CRACK

Yeah...it's kind of an unfortunate title, isn't it? Plumber jokes, old gf's, heck, even druggies come to mind when I see it.

It's like a rock ballad sung by a country guy, though, more than rock, Klugmo.

Not a bad song, but it's way too long. This is two song's worth of balladeering, at 6:20-something.

It does show how you've developed over the years. Your newer arrangements & such are getting better all the time.

God NO. KLUGMO, I think that was a great track and if you can put up with me I will do it on the level I would, Craig.
You are a great vocalist.
"ENDLESS CRACK" is written in a very modern style that makes me jealous. VERY , VERY GOOD.
The biggest problem I see with this EXCELLENT song is the conundrum all songwriters face. Endless Crack[ in my heart ] evokes tremendous feeling.
You weaken this because a second theme "I'm still waiting" keeps coming up stronger to the point that it should be the title.
Just a suggestion... I would bring some resolution at the end of this song by changing the ending so you get back to MY ENDLESS CRACK, IN MY HEART.
Good stuff Klugmo, not rock ,but Excellent.
Your vocals deserve some better recording and arrangements.
Please don't misinterpret any of this I'm just trying to give you some helpful feedback. Glen

Sadly, Philby brings up some good points. You don't want your song to become the Butt of many jokes on the Jay Leno show.

I really liked this Klugmo. I've been an admirer of your voice for some time mate. Kudos.

Yeah you're right. I have quite a few songs that are
all over the place. Maybe I'll post some more.

[b[/b]To be honest with you I'm not having much
luck finding a position in any band around here.
So I thought that singing and writing lyrics in an
online colaberation situation would be fun. The thing is I don't have the
equipment or know how to do that. I know I would be
good at it once everything was in place.
I don't know.

My computer does not offer a sound card driver in it that works with the OS I am using so I am missing out on a lot since I upgraded Mother boards. I hope to get a PCI card that has a driver soon and I am going to listen to some of this stuff. I really miss my sound card.  And I don't appreciate Microsuck closing me out of the loop so I will use an OS of THEIR choice and not mine.

If you did this back in 96 as you stated?
( not doubting your word, just setting a time line here.)
Then it would seem to me to fit neatly into the progressive county genre' of the era.

Man I'd love to see you do this thing a bit up tempo, shorten as much as possible and still meet the need of the "story line"( for lack of the appropriate term. )
Then chop that beat / melody / and vocal flow just a tad.
You know some hard stop & start guitar and vocal dynamic.
The guitar and rhythm is beautify played. Yet beautifully played don't always "knock the rock" if you follow where I,m going here.
Like the diff betwixed Charlie Daniels and AC/DC

Now that would rock ... I'm sure of it.

Here is a suggestion. RAP the lyrics, seriously! (stop laughing)
Not on the final production mind you ... sing that.
But you could use the RAP version to help you find a suitable choppy rock melody.

Oh, and I forgot.
Like the song.

Yeah sans, I've always had a problem with tempo
and key. Usually I will sing a song in too high of a key
and my vocals would suffer in the chorus at a crucial
point. I still fight that tendency to this day.
I know this song should of had some appropriate
sounding rock guitar work. I still like it. It's like an
old shoe you cant throw away.

I'd still have you in my band any day.

Thanks Chippy,
I moved here to remove myself and wife from a
criminal element in N. VA. In doing so I isolated myself from
musicians that were accessable. I will work this out.
Lately I have thought of online colaberation but
need equipment and know how.
