Saturday night we went to see Santana and Steve Winwood. On the way there a kid rear-ended us so we had to pull over and get his info. There wasn't much damage but the right rear brake light is out. So we arrived at the concert with Winwood on stage. From what I saw he sounded great, doing Traffic, Blind Faith and solo work. Santana came on after a twenty minute break. He has a huge band, with three pecussionists, two keyboardists, two singers, a second guitarist and a horn section. The sold-out crowd was on its feet all night. Awesome. Towards the end he announced that he was getting married and brought the young lady out, and she proceeded to play drums for several tunes. She looks like she's 25 (Carlos has to be pushing 65).

Yesterday I went to a graduation party, and then the Motor City Casino last night. The wife won about $500, I didn't win squat. Good to be back at work to relax!

I took the wife out on the canoe, Saturday. No sooner were we back home than the phone rang. A friend of mine wanted to take us fishing...or so he said...there was also a party going on where we were going.

We got ready & drove for over an hour to this party. I had taken the fishing equipment & my guitar.

There was some ppl sitting around playing, & my friend got me to sit in. Soon they had switched me off bass & onto acoustic, so I could sing, cuz none of them wanted to. I jammed with them for about 2 hours, all told, & they all wanted to know where & when I was playing. It was quite flattering, really.

Never did get to fish, though.

Yesterday I made Ian bring Jace over, & we played until well past his bedtime, but I've been missing the lil guy so.

Wish I coulda seen Winwood & Santana, though it was still a pretty damned good weekend!
