Don't laugh at me too much. I put up 2 songs . One was recorded and written 34 years ago when I was 20, in a studio with a broken 16 track recorder and we were just kids , and I was just 6 years into playing guitar. Hear the tape HISS.
The second song ,I was just trying to hash out some tracks, and I plugged in the SM58 to lay down some vocals.
This mic has been through so many gigs , been used as a hammer, dropped ,kicked ,beaten, thrown,,,,,, and I realize it still sounds good 36 years later.

Forget the rest of the music, Just listen to what the mighty SM 58 puts out.

Just thought I'd share, rather than go off on a political rant.

I liked them. Reminded me of the Doobies a bit. Run those through some computer tweaking and you could remove most of the hiss.

Glen. Nice to see you posting music man.
Very R&B. I miss that stuff. Nice job man. I think you should redo these, nice tones.
Kudos.

"Shoot Me Down" sounds like Vanilla Fudge to me.

"Can't Stop Loving You" is more like Rare Earth.

So has your range improved after you quit smoking, Glen?

Man, you got some vibrato in your voice, Glen! You need to do this a lot more, doncha think?

I just listened to them and I liked em.

I like the old stuff and this just fit right into the bill.

I don't know about recording quality, but f it. It sounded good to me.

I'd be drinking a stadium beer and smoking a green french fry, while they played. lol No cause for alarm.

Just to humble myself, you guys are all great and it would be an honor to pick up Scott and Chippy in Jersey and join up with two great bass players in W.V. and then have all you great players in a band join us in ,anywhere.
This was just about a microphone I have had for a long time,,, now I see I would rather have you guys for friends longer.

Sounds pretty good.

In our band trailer we have some sm 58s that are around 25 yrs old, they look and smell like it too. But those older ones seem to sound better than the newer ones we have. 58s are great mics.

Oh by the way Phil, Vibrato is just a way to cover up the fact that I can't hold a note in a bag,all the great Rock singers from a million years ago used that trick. As far as not smoking ,,,, when I sit down the pressure from wallet being a bit fatter does put pressure on the privates. I do think my range has improved by a semitone. You are a good guy Phil. I'm glad you fixed that AC unit.

Ya know, it's funny, but I used an SM48 for yrs. It was a great mic, too. I never hear ppl bragging on it, though. All my solo stuff was recorded with it, including "Heads Up"

Phil I never heard of a 48. But you are right, LOOK OUT BELOW is a very valid recording. Good song that shares much feeling. Live recording, I allways hated the cough in the middle of the first solo, You gotta quit smoking,so Craigs not writing your obit'. Post some of your other music , I will too. I find it fun to see were we've been .
SM58 Real rock an roll mic.
